Question for suspension experts

I've recently had my cv boots replaced. I had an alignment done and everything was well. Then I decided to paint my calipers. That was fine also. The problem is now I noticed a sort of "thunk" noise near the front passenger side. The noise always comes about after I back the car and go forward. Then after the car gets going there is no noise. The key is the noise will only come about after I back the car first then go forward.

I can't really tell what the source of the noise is. Is it the springs or the cv axle?

you know, I had the same exact problem when I bought my car. I took it back to the dealer, and they found that it was the brakes. They greased it up, and put it back together. I'm really not sure which parts of the brakes it was coming from, but they said that they could see it when they took it apart. It was real tough describing the noise to them and making it happen again.

I've had my tokico/eibach setup for about 2 years. I've never heard a peep from them. I have an auto.

Perhaps it is the brakes. I might check that when I have a chance.

Brakes - It's the only thing you touched prior to the appearance of the noise. Check the clips and make sure there all tight. What your hearing is a brake pad moving slightly when you back up, then when you go forward it clunks back into place.

hold your brake down(foot) and put it in reverse, then if you put it into drive, and you hear a clunk, thats drive line. not brakes. If you are driving and you hear a clunk, thats brakes

Yes, definitely brakes then. It's not the drivetrain because the noise only comes about when moving forward. Thanks for the info guys. It makes me feel alot better knowing it's the brakes instead of something else.
