Car pet peeves

What really ****es you off about your max? I really ****ing hate it when someone changes my seating position when all they do is move my car. My dad sits so up close to the stirring wheel that i cant even fit in. While I'm driving, i get really mad and irritated and keep changing the settings thinking that it's uncomfortable. Do they have that assigned arrangement luxury in the GLEs?

are you asking what ****es us off about the max itself or what people do to your max? two totally different things....

about the max itself:
- drivers side window is somewhat hard to control if you don't want it open all the way
- i swear my door locks are possessed, they sometimes lock for no reason

about others in my max:
- it irks me whenever i have a passenger that starts putting my max in the same car category as an accord or a camry.

I hate when people mistreat my car just because it's isn't a premium luxury car >>

I mean I know it's only a $23K piece of crap, but it's my piece of crap, ya know?

I've had people sit on my car, place heavy/hard objects on the sheetmetal, slam the doors, bump the doors into things when opening them, spill things on or in the car, and after I ask them to be careful, they say, "dude, relax, it's just a Maxima...it's not like you have a BMW or something."

Ohh I hate it when my Dad changes all the stuff **** around when he drives. He changes the positioning of both side mirrors, and has the seat ALL the way back and it's always dirty and dusty inside after he drives One of my friends recently has a hobby when being in my car of honking my horn a lot at people we know and stuff. It really irritates me because then people think its me being a smartass honking around and such and I don't like it.

Use a good automotive glass cleaner and newspaper to clean the windows.

Get new brake rotors.

Yes. Since you have only 13,500, take it in to the dealer and make sure they don't charge a penny for it. They will probably just turn the rotors if the warpage is not to bad and the thickness of the rotors is large enough.

I have this friend that is completely normal, likes sports, girls, tools, home improvement, etc. But he has a weird habit, I told him about it and he just laughs. He will change the position of his windows multiple times while driving. One time he closed the passenger window while my arm was in it and my hand holding the top of the frame. As I yelled he didn't even realize what he was doing. he thinks it's funny but I told him that habit is weird, like that dude that went to the supermarket and squeezed all the bread until he got busted.

thanks, Albertt! I was going to say the same things!

Things I don't like about Max:
plastic rattles - but it's my fault, I want a very stiff suspension;
no turbo (yet?)

Things I hate that people do to/in Max:
litter in the car;
get grubby pawprints on a freshly washed car;
say "it's only a car" or "it's only a maxima";
play with settings/things in the car;
ask to drive my car

Rules:
no smoking or eating messy foods in the car;
no spillage of fluids like soda or juice;
no touching the paint unless necessary;
no jumping around in/on car.

oh and another one is that cops would be more likely to pull over the max rather than a domestic car.. since a max is an import. I got pulled over for a loud exhaust, and here comes my friend with his loud Z28 and the cop doesnt do shiet.

I got a feeling that warped rotors is an adjustment item, like wheel alignment etc. which is only covered by the 12k warranty. Doesn't hurt to try though nothing to lose. Maximas have good rotors mine has 62k no pulsation whatsoever knock on wood.

i wouldnt want to be the person saying that to me. jeeze, how rude is that? no respect at all. my god, thats just horriable. it ****es me off. sorry guys, but its not cool to disrespect someones property, they should really admire how much time and work we put into our cars. kids at my school know, but these old guys in theyre convertiable 2 door mercades, my god, theyre *******s. this one guy thought it would be funny to try and cut me off and just be an *** driving, well we were climbing a hill (to get to the "plateau" where I live), anyway, i put him through a(nother) midlife crisis, .... what, my $60,000 car cant beat a $4000 car? then today a yellow corvette tried to race me, i am sick of these guys. i had more ***** than him, it was a merge and he backed off, i dont understand whats with these old guys with expensive cars trying to take me in my maxima? there are some guys out there that are really cool, not serious but just playing around, thats fun, but its the ******* old guys that are arrogent and think theyre better than everyone.

ok sorry about the outlash, just.... well..... i think you understand

hehe, I agree with you on the "its only a car/maxima" or even worse, it's "only a family car." I know it is, but I try my best to make it a 4DSC.

Other pet peeves:

- bumpy roads
- rattles
- weak Bose system
- noisy highway speeds
- going into a car when its 175 degrees inside there

What u said is very close to what I say except for a few things. But they usally laugh and say "whats the big deal i do it in my car" or "why do u car so much this car is piece of junk and its 13 years old, stop being so picky". Meanwhile my interior is in perfect condition except for the fading on the back seat from the sun.

1. Slamming trunk
2. Slamming doors (especially when window is down)
3. Not picking up feet when getting in car, and leaving
black rubber marks on door sill!!
4. Wanting to use my cup holder
5. Asking to share the armrest
6. Close the door by putting their hand on the window or
side of car (use the handle, thats why its there!)
7. Door doesn't shut on first try, and then they give it the hip!

the one thing i hate more than anything is when your friend weighing over 270 pounds jumps on your hood and rolls around on it ive got a couple of hood dents from that. i also hate it when my friends take the liberty of putting it in 1 when i dont know about it so im thinkin "why isnt the tranny shifting?"

i think we all hate the trunk slamming, and the rattling of the doors with windows down. everybody thinks they have to slam my trunk, but all they really have to do is let it close by itself.

Rotor warpage is a deformation of the material itself. It cannot be tweaked out of the rotor. But, if the rotor is still thick enough, it can be turned on a lathe.

If it isn't covered in the warrantee, I would NOT go to the dealer. If you're trying to spend the minimal amount, go to PepBoys or Advance Auto and buy the US-made Bendix rotors and a pair of Bendix Ti-IQ pads and have a trustworthy shop/friend do the swap.

After skimming over most of the posts here, I share the same passenger peeves with you guys, and also:

- front passengers that feel the need to sit with their legs as wide open as possible, basically putting their left knee on my shift ****.
- front passengers who feel that the arm rest was made for the front passenger. I'm the one that's shifting!
- people, passengers or otherwise, that get annoyed when I go over large bumps very slowly

My beefs with the car:
- it's sedany qualities (like I couldn't see this coming when I bought the car)
- my OEM clutch at 94k that works fine on the two days of the year here where the temperature is in the 60s-70s.
- paint imperfections...but at least the car is beige so they're fairly hidden
- the factory trunk floorpiece

I hate that too. People are always complaining about me slowing down and avoiding bumps. When I tell them that it's all in the name of car preservation, the number one dumbass reply is, "Who cares about bumps, that what shocks are for." Dontcha just love it?

The biggest one for me is when people want to touch the windshield with their nasty fingers. Also not knocking their feet together before getting in the car and tracking all sorts of dirt.

And that whole "I do it with my car why don't you do it" crap ****es me off too. Some of us don't have our parents buy our cars for us.
