Im willing to bet that your Exhaust sounds very similar to a Greddy catback. My bro had some other universal muffler on his 99 and that thing was load as hell. Now he has a Greddy Cat back on there and it is quite nice. When we were installing the Greddy he forgot some bolts, so he had to drive home with no exhaust and it was deafening.

I'm willing to bet you talk out of your @ss alot.

I have met up with a guy with a greddy catback. It was smooth as hell and really mellow. Mine sounds like a Mustang Gt with a lighter pitched grumble and less depth.

Craig dont get me start how many times you have no clue what the hell you are talking about. The Greddy wont sound too much different than your System assuming both cars have y-pipes. They will have the same note, but with maybe less drone. Ask Y2KSE on this one, he will set you straight.

As for your car sounding like a GT....No way buddy. V8s have a more muscular sound than V6s. Yours might be as loud as a mustang in decibels, but wont have the throaty note. Trust me ive heard Maximas with exhaust flowing straight from the exhaust manifolds.

Kloogy you havent been on the board long enough to really know Craig Mack. Back in the day he used to post some pretty rediculous posts, such as his friend V6 Mustang being faster than a 5 speed Maxima. He has learned a decent amount since then, but still posts some stupid stuff.

READ my post again man. I said my car sounds like a stang with a higher pitched grumble with less depth. NO import will ever sound like the 4.6L mustang. Maybe an easier comparison for you would be my system acting like a "mustang jr."

Straight piped maxima's with NO cats, no premufflers and no mufflers probubly sound awesome at idle, but they will buzz like hell under acceleration.

Dude sometimes you can be pretty ignorant.

First off may I say that 2000+ V6 5-speed mustangs get to 60 in about 7 seconds. That's about what they rated the 2000-2001 Maxima's at isn't it. (dont get your pannies in a wad I know it's not that accurate..although 7 is what most mags got).

With 190HP/225tq the mustang mated with a 5spd is sprightly. And My friend had dual straight pipes, headers, downpipe, superchip, pulleys, CAI, STS, ...basically every bolt on. His car is probubly in the mid-low 6's 0-60. He'd probubly take you out in your 5th gen. until 30mph. Remember he is FAR from stock, and we all know mustangs and domestics in general take better to mods that us Maxima's. You'd eat him up on the highway, but I bet he'd embarrasse you around town.

BTW, that guy's mustang now belongs to his little brother, Chanman02 here on the .org. The older brother now owns a '99 Camaro SS 6-speed that would smoke the **** out of all of us. Only boost and a rolling start would put us up there with him. I'm sure Kloogy can reiderate on that though.

I would have no doubt that ur car sounds like a V6 Mustang with Flowmasters.

Man quit Mag Racing your whole life. Please spend 10 bucks and go to a track. Even if you dont race your car, it will be fun for you seeing burnouts and truely fast cars.

As for a V6 Mustang beating my Maxima. Come on now, who races 0-30????? 0-60 a stock 5 speed would take him and then bye-bye. Tell your buddy to go to the track and then compare it to some times in the 1/4 section on here. I bet you will be suprised!!

Well I just went out tonite, met up with some friends...1 had a '96 Impala SS, the other a '95 5.0 Stang with the newer body style. The only thing I now have to say is they make any stupid import sound like a weedwacker.

As much as I love my smooth revving VQ V6 it didn't compare to the 5.0 or the even more sweet SS. My next car is DEFINATALLY going to be a domestic muscle car...no more of this fart can rice **** for me.

Actually...mine was deep and burbly ESPECIALLY for a little V6 until I passed about 3.5k rpms. My setup sounds domestic under low RPMS, but the import lack of displacement starts to show at around 5,000 RPMS.

I owned an WS6 Trans Am 6 speed, headers, 3 inch exhaust all the way out, no cats... That is what muscle sounds like, and the motor backs it up. high 12's with no juice or SC. I will say once again, I love my 2K2. I had that sound with my 89 stang, and my 96 TA , now I wanted a different kind of vehicle. I know my Max will never sound like a V8, but it doesnt sound like a CIVIC either.. Right in between. When I look at my interior and ride comfort, I can live with it. But you can never compare the sounds . My license plate frame on my T/A read : Sound Of Import Smokin Horsepower ....

BTW, the Max is my first ever Import, and I dont regret it. I still hate imports though, I mean Hondas !

Craig the reason you can tell the difference at around 5,000rpm is cause the mustang will be redlining while you can still climb you way past them as they shift

Ahh, the bitter-sweetness of high redlines. Good power, but higher pitched

The 5.0 and 5.7L SS might own me in engine growl, but I can assure you I OWN 90% of imports in engine grumble. The 5.0 is to me what I am to a civic! I'm just glad my setup doesn't buzz or get really high pitched like the ricers. To them I am a 5.0

it doesnt buzz... and I think he can give a pretty good run to many domestics wouldnt you say so Craig? I mean near 400lb torque is kinda skeery.

His exhaust just kinda screams....... I hear that he previously had the z28 3 inch piping.......... and that was loud, unfortunately i didnt hear it in person =( I only ran him with the apexi i think it is?

385 pound feet to be exact...and yes that much torque in a quick rush to the FRONT wheels must scare the poop out of Thomas's friends/girlfriend each time!

It must be sweet for him..getting to mess around with cobra's, lightning's, ect.
