I'm expecting my rings tomorrow or Wednesday and I figured I'd ask if anybody knew how to install these thangs. (Seeing as we're all going to be asking this in the next week or so.) I think there is a site that has a how-to but I don't know what site it is. Link or instructions anyone?

ok guys i got my chrome gauge rings in today. now, am i supposed to stick that white gummy stuff against the dashboard?? damn i thought it was going to be 3m tape or something? or do i have to take that off?

Yeah use that gummy stuff, it works well. Take your time doing it, when you press it against the gauge it might spread out.

No, hard enough, there might be too much of it on one side and might come out on one side or another.

 

OMG...i just installed these last night..and lets just say it wasnt as easy as i thought it was going to be...maybe im just completely incompetent, which is probably the case, but that was a lot harder than it should have been; and that glue?!?! WTF...i spent more time trying to get the gauges to stick than anything else...and so i ended up just supergluing it...you can call me stupid but there was no other way to get the gas level gauge ring to stay...and i didnt really feel like sanding the 2 small rings down so i glued the insides down and let the outsides stick out...kinda gives it a 3-d type look...overall, if i had to do it again, i probably would have just paid somebody to do it....pics? if anybody wants to see ill try to take em later 2nite

Mine were easy. Took about 30-45 mins. (I worked as a mechanic while in college) Did you do the install outside or in a cold-azz garage? I did mine in a heated garage cuz I was worried the adhesive wouldn't work in cold temps.
