5th Gen HID Angel/Demon Eyes Project now complete.....

After about a month and a half of prototyping, the angel eyes / demon eyes for 5th gen maximas are complete. i've been working with the creator, UMNITZA INC. this person has done the IS300 angel eyes and if anyone has been following the angel eyes project, it was successful with the IS300 forum, but it was also because of their help. now it is our turn to get angel eyes for our cars. but obviously, our help is needed because there are always costs. i will let Matt, aka UMNITZA take over and discuss everything that is needed. he will cover all of the details. but everyone, the ANGEL EYES ARE READY. pictures can be viewed here on my site, a few of some bmw lights and some beta pictures of what ours look like.

Angel Eyes Pictures

i repeat, this is no longer an idea. it's. all that's left is to complete what we can do to help progress the production of our angel eyes. for anyone that helps, there is going to be a discounted cost for the first 50 people, as those are the ones helping out productions costs with a deposit of $50. i will let matt follow through with details. but this is it. let's go.

Whew, well, it's been determined that:
a) the rings are the perfect diameter
b) we need to design a mold for the new clips - the mold will cost $5500, we only ask that you confirm you want this by Paypaling $50 to jsp98m3@apexcone.com - it is limited to $50.
c) your price will be $180

This is a "non-profit" deal - which means, we'll make 0 money on it. After materials, molds, reworks of the molds, production, and shipping, we'll probably make 1 to 2 dollars

I'd like to talk to the board owners about future vendor sponsorship

I can post pictures of BMWs or IS300s, but anyway, let me know.

We will close this opportunity exactly on Jan 31st (or maybe do what the dealerships do and extend it to Feb 2nd )

Anyhoo, if you need ANY info, DO NOT PM ME - I only will respond to emails. NO PMs.

So the cost is $180 with the $50 deposit or on top of the $50 deposit?

What if you dont get 50people by your close date and some people have already paypaled you the money? Will it be refunded?

I'm interested in what comes w/ the whole kit...i.e. wiring harnesses to fit oem harnesses for 2000-2001/2002-, bulbs, mounting brackets, relays, instructions, etc...? Basically what I'm asking is...is everything included for plug n' play use out of the box? And what is needed if not? Oh...will this be street legal? The reason why so many ?'s is because I'm very interested on putting this on my max.

please email me w/ some info...thanks.

I remember you wanted to use the fiber optics and create a box for the bulbs and different colors. Is this still the design? What colors are available?

and will drilling a hole be required? If so, how big?

I've had a long list of emails to respond to, I'll try to get back to all of you tonight.

Let's answer them in order:
1) Here's the video for the E46 - just go to my site www.umnitza.com and download and watch it. That's the brightness that I expect. So to answer your question, what you see in that picture is actually a camera trick, if I showed you ours with the same camera trick, it would scare you j/k.

2) Holes are 17/64th (diameter of each strand of fiber. You can drill 4 individual holes and silicone them or one large hole and use the supplied bushing with vinyl sheath to weather proof it.

3) $50 is a deposit, you'll pay only $130 after that, plus shipping. We need 50 people, if we get 60 or 70, I'll make the decision, we may even lower the price if that's the case. But we're aiming for an ultimate retail of $225ish for this Gen IV kit. Gen V is out and it's WAY brighter, but it's also not possible to do it for this price.

4)What's included - you get Poly Carbonate Rings (way better than acrylic), 8 Fiber Strands (we don't skimp but we'll need measurements so we can provide enough - right now each strand is 2'), 2 light boxes, with lights, with connectors, some wiring connectors, a vinyl protective beauty sheath per side, Poly Carbonate Clips for attaching to the lights.

5) Do your lights autolevel?

6) All $50 paypal is refundable if we don't make the mold, don't reach the desired number etc. Money orders can be done, but we'll take longer returning those if something goes wrong (which I doubt it will - but I have to offer the disclaimer).

That's it for now

To clarify.

You are mailing the money to Jim Powell.
He is my partner on this, it's his address.

He is particularly keen on doing this.
He has the contact with the mold makers who will put it together.
I've done all the preliminary testing, will be doing the distribution for the first 50.

After that, I hope that Polo will take over the "operation" I'll just be "behind the scenes"

ok sounds good,
now i just need to know why are you so heavily against the HID look?

Also, I would like to pay, but i want to know if we will have 50 or not before I do so. So Maybe you can make a list or perhaps a number in the original thread and contantly update it. Thanks

I can't post someone's address publicly.

Email me and after I get through the initial 300 emails, I'll reply to yours

I'll try to keep a list together.

The only way for me to do this is:
if after you paypal, you send me the paypal receipt in an email with the subject:

Nice car Deac

To clarify, paypals are sent to Jim Powell.
Manufacturer.

Turn around is probably 1 month so mid Feb we should have something for testing and shipping could be end of Feb.

But I'm not allowing for testing, issues, etc.

We don't deliver crap.

Why will it take longer to refund money orders than if with paypal if you don't reach the desired number? I only ask because I'm sending my deposit out via money order.

Damn. This kinda is a little too late for me. My car is being fixed right now so I can't drive it so now would be the perfect time. I'll keep checking back to see how it goes.

I only hand those out to customers.

What I can offer to you is the following install vid promo for the IS300:

Go to my site and look under complimentary videos - it's just there.

As for Money order, it's a "coordination" issue.
It's PAPER. So, you have to find the paper, who sent it, then write the check, then send it, and hope postoffice doesn't lose it...yada, yada, yada.

What we have with paypal is "click" "click" "click" done.

Polo, Umnitz,

The fact that I reply to this thread(and has been following since my earlier post) shows my great interest in Angel/Demon eyes for my car. However, I would like to see actual Maxima with the product you're offering so that I can make decisions if I should deposit $50 or not.

I'm VERY interested, but I'm hesitant about these HOLES I must drill into the housing for the light to travel through.

How hard is it to conceal?

Sorry, trying to answer too many questions and I need to clarify something:

The address is:
jsp98m3@apexcone.com
There I feel better

HID blue has an affect much like a "tapered" light.
You shine a high intensity light into a blue object and eventually the blue takes over.

That's what happens here. Some people swear by the non-uniformity and love it. Others don't.

With clear rings, you can simply change a filter or bulb.

Instead of having to change rings.

http://www.umnitza.com/dde/video/promo/e46newpromo1.mpg will show you what I mean - side by side comparo.

I'm very interested in getting these but I would like you to clarify a couple things before I send the payment.
1) So the total for the entire kit is $180 plus shipping?
2) How are the rings attached to the inner headlight housing? Do they have to be glued on?
3) Will you ship to Toronto Canada, and can you declare the package at a lower cost when shipping so I can avoid paying expensive duties when it crosses the border?
4) Also can you post up a list of how many people we have so far in this deal?

Thanks,
Nathan
