I GOT THE LOW DOWN:

HERE IT IS, STRAIGHT UP,

I talked to Jeremy from ZEN Motorsports.com. He is not the guy working the group deal directly but he knew what was going on. This guy Scott runs all the group deals. Ok anyway...BOMZ racing is on a huge backorder of strut tower bars. They have had giant orders lately for all kinds of cars. This is whats going on, directly from a BOMZ representative. They know we want a bunch of bars, it will be about a month probably before they can make all of them for us.

I told Jeremy that a bunch of us were sketched out about buying a bar and not seeing it for over a month. He said that we call all order it now and pay now but we wont see the bars for about a month. OR the better idea, which he suggested, is waiting about two weeks and then calling ZEN Motorsports.com again and see where BOMZ is at.

I SUGGEST: We all keep this Group Deal in the front of our minds and come back in about two weeks with a full list of all those who want to be in on the deal. By then we will probably have much more people and be able to get the same price offered right now, or MAYBE alittle less.
LET ME KNOW WHAT Y'ALL THINK. I want this bar just as bad as anyone else but who wants to pay for a bar now that we wont see for awhile

Read the thread right before you! Anyways, I think the second way is better. We should definitely keep this thread alive, but not as feverently as I've been doing it. I'll come back in 2 weeks. I'm buying it!

No problem...you did a good job, dont worry bout it. My guess is that Scott is a busy dude. He runs all of the group deals for that company. Who knows??

I look forward to getting the bar even still...hope they get on the ball soon over at BOMZ.

They are pretty easy to paint, high temp engine enamel, couple dollars at an auto parts store.

Does Bomz make a Rear Strut Tower Brace (NOT a Rear sway bar)? If they do and I can get it for the same price I will be in. Bomz does not list a RSTB on their web site but it does say they have more applications not listed.

Great price but if the pic is really the item, I think it would be too tall--would hit the hood...

This was covered on page 1, the pic is just a sample. The bar will be the same but the brackets will be different.

A few days ago I was checking out the group buy center
http://www.groupbuycenter.com/
and I noticed Zen motorsports was selling the FSTB for $25 for all year Maxima's. I called to inquire and was told that the price was a mistake, my year, a 2003, was $35 plus $7 shipping. So I ordered it, and it arrived about a week later. Total price shipped $42. I'm not sure why there telling us it's not in stock now. The box was beat to hell, but the bar is in good shape. Looks nice. So I guess I'm out of this group deal.

Thanks Looney for trying to put this together, but it doesn't seem worth the wait for the 5th gens at least.

I just went back to the group buy center and I noticed Looney662 also joined this group buy. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Saw that too. I'm going to order off that thing too, thanks for trying to make it happen Looney but it doesn't look like it'll work. Oh well, at least we'll still get our FSTB's! And, 03BlkSETE, you have advanced timing? Does that deteriorate the car at all, and by deteriorate I mean is it harmful to the car at all? My friend was telling me I could get huge gains from doing advanced timing but I was doubtful if it was good for the car or not. (insert off-topic smiley here, won't load for me)

No negatives to advanced timing. Power gains are subtle but noticeable. Tons of info is available on the org.

No problem, there's just to much info to write about. Bottom line is, it's worth doing. I even got a little better gas mileage.

i just called Zen motorsports to buy a bar from the groupbuy center, and the guy doing the group deals says that theyre on backorder and they wont get any in for 2-3 weeks. so does that mean all group buys thru Zen are on hold no matter where you try to buy from?

Wow now I feel special. I ordered mine today at 11:30 from Zen Motorsports. They had to call the company in CA to make sure, but I got one. Sorry that they're on back order. I must have just squeezed one in.

That's why this group deal is on hold, till we can get word from Zen motorsports that they are back in stock!

I was thinking the same thing. The one in the pic sits kind of high
