I've got school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and would have to arrange for someone to be here to recieve it.

 

CAn you post pictures of the parts that come with the clutch i just got mine and the box was ripped and in bad shape, the inside was dusty and dirty and the clutch release bearing mini box inside looks like its been ripped open I have a plastic key the clutch release bearing the two wheels(not technically inclined, sorry) and a metal ring.

 

also why isn't my clutch blue like in the picture.

 

I have to wait until I get the second batch in so I can open one up to see what everything looks like. I opened a box here at the store and but I didn't notice any dirt inside. The clutches came in 3 in one bigger box. I notice that all of the boxes had little cracks along the bottom so I reinforced them with a lot of packaging tape. I called up the distributer said not to worry about the little cracks on the box. I don't know about the bearing box being open and ripped. I also asked about the color because I thought it was blue too. He said all of the clutch pressure plates are silver... other than the Hyper, Dual Plate, and Triple Plate clutes that are like a purple color. I told him where to see the pic. He said the blue was a background color that reflected on the pressure plate on the clutch that made it look blue. I took a closer look and noticed what he was talking about. I checked the Exedy Website and found this better picture of the pressure plate.

I should post this pic on the first page too so everyone doesn't expect it to be blue.

Hey guys. I just read your replies now let me see what I can find out. The Part number on your Exedy Clutches is 06-803... The stock one on Ebay is Part Number 06-044.

 

Shouldnt it be 06-800?

PJ is there other ways to certainly verify that it a performace clutch and not the OEM replacement.

 

It's the same clutch from 84-01 no matter which engine it is. Flywheels are different.

 

PJ..How comes there is no VQ or VE, only VG?

 

Alright guys. Here's a simple breakdown for most of your questions:

1. Yes, you bought the performance clutch from me. There's no other answer but that. I only sell performance aftermarket parts. All my distributers, except one, sell me only performance aftermarket parts. The other one is for stock bodyparts in case someone messes up their car in an accident. Verification... The part number I received for the Stage 1 (Organic - 36% Clamping Increase) is 06-803. This is from my supplier, Exedy's US website (www.daikin-clutch.com), and finally the Exedy Catalog and Price Sheet. The stock replacement clutch from Exedy is part # 06-044 like the one on Ebay. The part number 06-800A from www.coximport.com and clutchcityonline are old part numbers and should be correcting them to the new part numbers soon. I called myself to verify that info. If the Part number you received on the Exedy Box is 06-803 then you own an Exedy Racing Clutch that will give your max a 36% clampinging increase over stock.

2. From 1984 until 2001, The 5-speed Nissan Maxima uses the same exact performance clutch in all those years. This isn't new news. ACT, Clutchmaster, and Centerforce all have one part number for all those year maximas. If you have a 97 Max and you found a performance clutch from a 1993 Maxima you can slap it on. Just because it only lists one engine code doesn't mean they only fit on that one.

I asked all of these questions to my distributers before I even posted up this GD because I like getting things done right the first time.

 

Well the clutches are the same for all the years so the engine listing doesnt really matter. It probably just says VG30 since that's the original engine that'd be listed with it.

But no I havent gotten it, you ship it UPS or USPS?

Hey guys guess what guys... I got the 6th order but it's not for a max... it's for my brother's Civic. But that still makes 6 clutches. Order was made and they should be here by next Wednesday. Thank my brother's horrible ability to drive stick for keeping these kits moving quickly. We're ready for the next 6.

 

I honestly can't answer that question precisely, but if I had to make an educated guess, I would have to say around 350 ft. lbs. of torque.

 

The Stage 2 Clutch (the Cerametallic 3-puck clutch) has a 76% clamping increase over stock. That's just a lil too much... lol.

 

Yeah definitly. I just hope this one does not eat up my new tranny.
