New Supplier - New MEVI GD

http://www.cyberhub.net/manifold/

Pricing for VI with Ornamental Cover: $540 shipped.

Pricing for VI without Cover: $480 shipped.

Add $110 for an install kit (RPM Switch, Solenoid, hoses, wiring, connectors, relay, Vacuum Canister).

You can also find these items yourself if you wish (see the web page listed in this post above)

(Expect 9-11 weeks shipping time) (8-10 to me, 1 to you)

Need 10 people, then I will place the order. Payment by Check or Money Order.

This new supplier is FAR more reliable and the language barrier problem is gone.

People who have bought MEVI's and received before (use these people as references)

JustMaxin96
SuDz
Iron Lung
Prodeje79
mtrai760 (local to me, and can beat me up)
mrb23 (local to me)
speedtrip
MAXINXS
ToolRocks

I will update the list below as people sign up - E-Mail questions to cyberoptik@cablespeed.com

I do not expect payment until all 10 people are in-line. I am trying to hook up a deal for 50% down, 50% upon 1 week before arrival to the US.
If it is possible, this should help some people pay easier. Waiting for all 10 to be inline allows me to work this option out with the new supplier.

AgaricX - VI with cover and install kit - (PAID IN FULL)
mitch33x - VI with cover and install kit - (PAID IN FULL)

How much interest is there, by the way, of selling this with a kit (RPM Switch, Solenoid, hoses, wires, T fittings, etc)?

That would definitly make it more appealing to me.

(As would a JWT ECU for a 99.5 )

I think I'm going to post a thread about how beneficial it would be to me without the availability of the ECU and make a decision based upon the responses.

But yeah, the install kit is a great idea!

If you are Auto, it will help your 1/4 mile without the ECU by about .3 Seconds (see my page)

If you are stick, then there is some debate as to whether or not the VI helps on the track.

But both sides agree the freeway and passing power is awesome.

As a testament, here is a pic of my friend when I hit the gas after install:

Ok, i'm not a mechanical genius so don't flame me....can a PR CAI be installed along with the MEVI or is it once you get the MEVI that's it? I figure that I can still do the entire exhaust setup and ECU but was wondering if i can save up a little more money to get the MEVI instead of the CAI or better yet get both if possible. Thanks for the help.

MEVI and CAI are two seperate things.
One goes to your manifold, one is your manifold.
Hope that helps.

I am finalizing the 2nd GD right now....(See E-Mail below)

In our discussion, I got the following E-Mail from my supplier....the 50/50 option is looking pretty good.....I don't know yet, however, at what point I will qualify as "Earning his trust".....But it still looks pretty good.

<Also notice - no more broken Engrish.>

Once , we familiarize with each other , we could go for 50 % advance , instead of 100 % , as per your requirement. But request you to transfer the full amount till then after getting our PROFORMA INVOICE , which we will send to you shortly.

Assuring of our best services to your satisfaction.

ummmm....not really....I need to know if both can be installed or not....from the pics I've seen of the MEVI installed it doesn't look like you can.

yes both can be installed.

look at those pics again... the CAI connects to the throttle body (via rubber hose, and the same throttle body is used with the MEVI).

damm, I have $500 bucks right now and can get it, but I really don't want it until the ECU for 97-99 come out. Kinda pointless with a 6500 rpm. Not to its full potential.

You've seen my opinions in other threads....I think the arguments about the stock ECU, while not incorrect, ar a bit exaggerated.

The JWT ECU helps quite a bit, I'm getting myself one soon. Some 5spds have not shown much if any gain in the 1/4 mile, but some Autos have shown quite a bit of gain. It just depends on who you talk to and what tranny they are.

But on the other hand, even without the ECU the gains off the track (and on the track for Autos) are pretty good, for everyone...5spd and Auto.

Beyond the track, I love this mod, as do many others who have it. The freeway passing power, 40mph roll races, etc, etc are pretty sweet. The car just breathes so much better at high RPM.....You can literally feel the switch of the butterflies when it activates putting G forces on you.....actually takes some getting used to because you wind out the gears a bit faster also.

I know I'm biased, so don't flame. I am being as honest as I can be using my experiences.

See the pic below

MEVI goes where the red circle is - CAI goes where the yellow circle is, connecting to the MEVI at the Throttle Body. the Throttle body does not get changed in any way when installing the VI. It comes off of the original manifold and bolts onto the MEVI.

Ok, I understand what your saying. I think I was thrown off because it looks like you have a supercharger on there and I didn't see the stock air box. Thanks for the knowledge...i'm going to try and save to get it on this deal.

Yeah - I do have an SC.

Here is an image of the VI out of the box (the metal cover and butterflies aren't installed yet)

5th gens already have a variable intake (your manifold opens wider at full throttle).

this mod is for 4th gens, to give them the same advantage.

the ME in MEVI is for middle eastern - cause that's where they're made.

a PR CAI and a MEVI will coexist well. actually, some sort of increased flow air intake system is probably a good idea with a MEVI, as the MEVI can only increase airflow at high rpms if there's enough air being fed to it by your intake system.

hope that helps.

I dont think the VIs are made in the Middle East, they just happen to get them from suppliers (nissan dealers?) in the middle east.

Then can be obtained from japan as well so whats that..FEVI? (far east VI?)

The reason they are called "MEVI" is they are mostly manufactured for the 1998-1999 Maxima GV 3.0 in the Middle East/Africa markets.

There are reports that this manifold exists in Taiwan and Japan also, but not in large quantities.

Thus the name "MEVI"....You could also call it "VI" or "FEVI", I suppose.

The actual Nissan Marketing name is "VIAS" (Variable Induction Air System)

Anyway, a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet.
