Can you please post here if you have yellow pillars and also if any of you have received a replacement piece or refund?
It appears that Capvent ran out of here and I am trying to assess the damage.

I was one of the first people to purchase a set, I emailed him and this is what was sent:
Ralph,
Unfortuneately, the materials that the pillars are made from were made
to be
indoors like the dash kits. They are not designed to withstand the
elements
- so to speak. When they are exposed to extreme het like that in
Texas,
they begin to show a yellow tint. There is nothing you can do about
that.
These pillars are originally made for show room cars that see very
little
outside use.
I have had mine on my car for about a year and they look cool a little
yellow. sorry about that, but I think they look cool and have a broken
in
kinda look.
I dont think he plans on replacing mine. I paid 57.50 for my set.

If he ran then he ran, you can get the authorities involved for $50 worth of your time.. although I know most people can't get cops to do jack about anything under $15,000 total... they'll just put the file somewhere to collect dust.
His e-mail could've been planned, or he could be just like me when i have the exact thing to say to another customer and just copy/paste. No such thing as plagiarizing my own words and if all the info is there then why rewrite it???
Was this his first time selling stuff.. was he aware of the info that needed to get out? Did he even know about it... or later make up that they need to be for show, maybe because he'd be less of a dumbarse for saying they're for show as opposed to being shocked that they are defective. Did anybody even know that CF could discolor like this?
------
I know capvent was a regular on the forums so I know he's got a lot of friends around here that probably don't want to say anything because they'll get flamed or bugged the hell out of for info on where capvent lives and such. I encourage those that know him to try to find what's up and probably get a moderator and sort this crap out.
For all those who don't want to send these back and take the loss, I suggest getting any kind of window tint film that matches your car and place it over the CF pieces as to change their appearance due to the discoloring. This works best on red, burgundy, green, and blue cars. It also kind of hides any scratches for those who got the scratched/cracked ones from the other CF deal. 2 layers makes it look pretty amazing. I had done this to my cracked tails before my accident (i only had this "mod" for like 3 days). I used 2 layers of 70% window tint film (or adhesive translucent film) and the suckers were so shiny that you couldn't see the cracks because of the glare of the light or reflection that you get. The tint spray might also work and may be even easier to apply. With both, you have to be sure to be careful when washing the car as some rags or cloth might slightly scratch the surface.
I hope all gets resolved.
Max002:
I hear you loud and clear and I did not post anything until I got a few customer un-friendly buyer beware emails. The emails pointed to the fact that he knew full well these would yellow and "neglected" to inform his buyers.
I only posted info publicly after I received an email saying that I was s*** out of luck and I should have known they would fade. He said he would replace the piece but wnet on to tell me I should have known better. He then publicly stated that he offered a refund which was a lie. At this point he told me I would not get a refund because I posted info here regarding his customer no-service.
The point is he was dishonest and his sale was misleading. The reason why this was posted publicly was a direct result of the unfriendly reply I received.
Those on here that know me are well aware of how I conduct myself in my personal and business life, with respect for the customer and a regard for the person(s) I am dealing with.
If I had been given prior knowledge that these things would turn yellow I never would have bought them. It would have been a waste of my money. If he would have posted this I am sure many others would have done the same especially when he said his product was a good alternative to slammed95's group deal.
There is no excuse for unprofessional business practices, ethics and lies of omission.
He also stated that all CF products can turn yellow. This is not true as some memmbers here have attested to in this thread.

...which begs the question: Is this just a case of a bad batch going out, or was the seller aware that the problem was pre-existent and didn't inform the buyers?
For some, this is a case of "guilty until proven innocent", but I got my refund and that's all I know.

It is kind of interesting.... the email he sent me stated that he knew they would turn yellow as they did in fact turn yellow on his car and AI should have known that....<scratches head>.
I guess I just got screwed for speaking up. No refund, no contact, no Capvent on the .org any more.
