How about 1995-2003 AGXs w/o any BS?
I don't see as many $330 agx deals around all of a sudden. Maybe because AGX raised their prices by a huge step and now $330 is the wholesale price.
Our distributor tipped us off and we bought a bunch at the old price. Not sure if this is the lowest number out there, but what sets us apart is that we have dozens of sets of 1995-1999 AGXs for $355 on OUR shelf, totally under OUR control, ready to ship immediately. We're not dependent on anyone else, there's nothing to go wrong, you buy them from us and we ship them to you, simple as that, no room for BS.
Also a reminder that Cattman Performance is the only source of the unmatchable AGX for the 2000-2003 Maxima. We rebuild the lower front mounts to fit the newer series, and they work flawlessly on the gen5 Maxima -- no need to wait for KYB to get around to making an application, enjoy them now! These are also in stock for $435/set, ready to ship from our shelves.
Also pick up a set of the great KYB dustboot/bumpstop combinations for $50/set if purchased with struts. Cattman must be the best source for these because we sell a huge number by themselves ($60/set w/o struts). We'll also have our Progress Performance lowering springs back in stock later in the month, with a new application specifically for the 2000-2003 (though the 1995-99 series still goes with the 00-03 AGX). The Progress Springs and AGX struts are a fantastic performance combination and value, priced together at $500 for the 95-99 and $580 for the 00-03.
All these parts can be ordered via our order line, 800.759.9920, 8-5 MST, M-F. We're accepting backorders for the springs, and do not charge the CC until the product ships.

In this case, the retail price has, in effect, become a sale price due to a radical price increase by the manufacturer. Really wouldn't make much business sense to lower my prices at this point in time would it?

- There's no deal out there that even approaches the value of the Progress bars for $110. You could sell ADDCO bars for $80 and the Progress would still be the better deal.
- My distributors and I are already selling well over a 100/month.
- And, these values exist despite the fact that there is no competition -- Cattman Performance sponsored development of this part and is the exclusive distributor (through us or those we distribute through). Point being, we enjoy presenting a good deal on a part we bring to the marketplace, but it would be rather foolish to compete against ourselves.
It wouldn't apply to everything we sell, but in the case of the Progress bar, you get a great deal, we make a reasonable profit, seems like the best of both worlds, what more can you expect than that?
Fact is, my distributors are banging on me to raise the price to $120, so perhaps it would be best to think of $110 as temporary.

Cattman,
I just ordered AGX's last week and they should be in soon. I currently am running 5th gen Eibach springs on stock struts. Will I run into any problems during the install because these are 4th gen "adapted" parts? What is the slight modification that you listed on your website for the 5th gen fronts to fit?

With the later series, it will be a matter of the bottom coil of the rear springs not seating properly until you get them installed and drive a few feet. Then, its a big KA-CHUNK, and they're in place as the bottom coil opens up and fits over the spring perch.

I can't stretch the strut rod, so one of two things can be done. You can buy a pair of the mounts (just the one-piece part that bolts into the opening of the strut tower) or you can grind off the bottom .4" or 1 cm from the "neck" the end of the strut rod extends through, so that enough of it comes out the top to properly secure the retaining nut. We include an instruction sheet on the procedure. We're also stocking the Nissan mounts (take it from me, accept no substitutions) and you can buy them from the dealer too -- there are several different part #s from 95-99, but they all fit. I get the ones for a 98-99 SE with the idea that the rubber bushing materials may be stiffer.
Regarding your springs, the bottom coil on most 00+ springs is a wee bit small to fit over the rear spring perch. What seems to work is to install the springs even though they have not settled in the rear, let the weight of the car down, and if necessary drive a little ways, and the bottom coil will spread open far enough to settle over the spring perch. I know it sounds a little funky, but no one has ever told me it didn't work.
If buying new springs to go with the 00-03 AGX application (noting again I recommend the Progress springs) be sure to buy them for the 1995-1999 series. I assure you that there is no functional difference.

Only issue now is KYB's massive price increase at the end of April, over $30/set -- outrageous. When we're out of these cheap ones, our price will have to go up.

Thanks for the tips. It looks like I am going to have to take my car over to my buddies shop and use his grinder. As for the rears, I am a little concerned that there might be a safety issue with the AGX/Eibach (5th gen)setup. What happens if I lift a rear tire at the track? Will the spring become dislodgeded if weight is not applied down on the spring?

The three possibilities would be that a spring would fit normally over the AGX's rear spring perch (if using 95-99 springs of whatever brand), or it would settle tightly over the slightly oversize rear spring perch (if using 2000+ springs) or, at least a possibility, that the 2000+ springs didn't settle fully on it (I've got an email from an Eibach/AGX owner about this).
To be clear, I can make suggestions about how 2000+ rear springs can be made to fit the adapted AGX struts, but I cannot guarantee that they will fit and I strongly encourage using 1995-1999 springs with them.
I'm not sure if you're talking about using 2000+ Eibachs on these, but whether they fit normally or tightly, neither case would seem to increase the likelihood of the spring coming dislodged. More importantly however, is that I suspect that the spring is still under some compression at full strut extension, which makes what you're referring to impossible.

Looks like a nice setup. I am defenatly interested in getting KYB AGX's with the dustboots and progress springs as a package. How long will these prices last, I will be getting a paycheck on the 27th, can I pay you then? Also is there anything else you suggest doing while getting this job done? I have a FSTB and a RSB already. Do you sell mounts?
Thanks,

Its a very popular combination. I don't drive on it daily because I run our new coilover suspension on my car (and I had the old coilover suspension on before that) but I've driven and ridden on the AGX/Progress spring suspension a few times and I think it handles and rides great.
I'm going to sell a couple dozen more sets at this price, but I couldn't predict whether or not they'll last till 27 June. That may be cutting it a bit close but there may be some left.
If you car has more than 50k miles you might want to replace the upper front mounts (just the part that bolts into the strut tower opening) because that rubber bushing gets sloppy over time. We carry those for $60 if purchased with struts and you can also get them from your dealer. Stick with the Nissan ones because I've had bad luck with others.
What else could you install at the same time? Looking at your signature, I'd say you need an intake unless you forgot to mention it. We've got some great underhood intakes if your summers aren't too hot, and if they are the Cattman CAI is the classic Place Racing design, the only one that positions the filter where the air is cool, clean and relatively dry.
Seeing you've put the work into your tranny, you might also want to consider our HD motor mounts to cut down on the wheel hop and enjoy corners more smoothly and confidently without the mass of the engine thrashing back and forth. Made by Place Racing, they are bullitproof and guaranteed basically forever.
Depending on the size of your paycheck, for an extra $700 beyond the $550 you were going to spend anyway, you can forego the springs and struts and get our new coilovers. I just put them on my car after getting back from overseas and they are incredibly sweet. The handling is dialed in much more precisely than the old coilovers I had on before. I was holding off on getting some new Nitto 555s (hey, I'm cheap and they're great while they last) until the suspension was installed and now I'll put them on and go nuts.
