Custom Trunk Kit
Custom Trunk Kit
OK guys, Custom trunk kit. It's going to include a sub enclosure (2 12" or 2 15") This isn't like the universal one that you go and get at an audio shop. It's made to fit snuggly into the back of the trunk (right behind the rear seats). In the two corners that are closest to the taillights, there will be a box on either side where you can mount two amps. In between the amp rack and the sub enclosure will be another diagonal looking box that's going to make the trunk pretty much look like the top half of a stop sign. In order to make sure that you're entire setup is going to stay in one spot, there's going to be a custom cut piece of wood (shaped like the top half of a stop sign) and it's going to be carpeted so you don't have to worry about the trunk carpet and the boxes having clashing colors. Right now I'm thinking about $350 Shipped to anywhere in the continental us by truck freight. Let me know what you guys think. By the way, this isn't like the eyelids where they are going to take 2-3 weeks to make. All the dimensions are already layed out and they will be made as you order them. Let me know what you guys think and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for your interest. Just to let you guys all know, I'm working on getting a business license in order to make ourselves official. Until then, we're private vendors Wish CTi luck ... we're going to specialize in Nissan aftermarket parts and do as best we can. - Jitek
Altima? How do you know if it'll fit nicely in a Maxima? You must've took measurements and test fitted it - no pics??? I do graphics, but still yet, this is really asking a lot of imagination.

No, you're right. I was actually just trying to ask opinions and see how many people would be interested. The one's in my trunk are made for my altima. Those that order it, it will be made for a maxima. - Jitek
Jitek, I guess I'd like to know how this would look in a Maxima, like everyone else. But also, what I want to know is if this is specific to a particular gen or are you hitting up all gens? I'm also curious as to what materials will be used to make this setup, aside from the wood and carpeting? MDF? Fiberglass? Paper mache`?
Can't wait to see the pics...

As of right now, I have the dimensions layed out for:
1st Generation Nissan Altima
5th Generation Nissan Maxima
B15 Nissan Sentra
I need some donor cars in the chicagoland area though for:
2nd Generation Nissan Altima
3rd Generation Nissan Altima
4th Generation Nissan Maxima
B14 Nissan Sentra
I just wanted to see how many people are interested because I need to calculate the amount of wood, carpet, etc that I'll be needing. I can make one set in about 2 hours or so but I can make them faster if I make a group of them together (without rushing them, that is). There seems to be two people interested right now. I'll get pictures up as soon as I can. I think that might be more helpful. I need to go and work on the eyelids right now but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me and ask. - Jitek

I haven't thrown them onto a scale yet. Instal time? Let's say that your trunk is already clean, I'd say it's going to take about 3-4 minutes to throw the boxes in. Now, if you want to hook up the subs and amps, you can get creative and think hour after hour on how you're going to place everything into your trunk. It's pretty much made for two subs and two amps. You can get creative though and throw some other stuff in there. - Jitek

How about sub boxes that will fit flush against the back seat, but are made to fit with the rear strut tower brace?
It would have to either be 'h' shaped and fit over the brace, or '\' slanted to fit behind the brace - would be pretty thin at the base though... probably not enough air for 12's... 10's though... or maybe one 12"....
Also, it should be ported up through the stock Bose Sub location, in the rear deck, so that it wouldn't have to fire through the rear seat..

Donor cars for any of my projects get them free. The dimensions that I have down right now are simple. As soon as an order comes in, I can go ahead and build the kit and ship it out withing 48 hours (usually 24 hours). Making the dimensions take a lot of work though. I have to actually go through making the boxes and test fitting everything. Let me get pictures for you as soon as I can. The problem is that I'm working a LOT on the eyelids for the 5th gens right now. Just out of curiousity, do 00-01 and 02-03 maxima's have different trunk dimensions? They seems to be slightly different and I was overhearing my two cousins talking (both maxima.org members) and they were talking about how one car was slight longer than the other. - Jitek
Guys, I'm sorrie about coming out with this so soon. Right now, I am SO SO SO busy with the eyelids and some gauge pods that I'm designing. Just give me a little time and I'll try to snap some shots for you next weekend or earlier. - Jitek
Guess what guys, my friend just bought a new 2000 maxima and want's me to make the custom trunk kit. Know what that means? That means as soon as I finish, you guys get to see a picture in your own trunk. BTW, let's hear some suggestions for prices (w/o shipping). If you decide to be funny and try throwing me a VERY low number ... I will completely disregard your post

Ok that's cool. Anyway, I'm working on the eyelids as of right now, whice by the way is taking forever and near impossible to get them perfect. I'm trying to make it fit like a glove so it's taking time. I'm REALLY strict about the quality of my products. You'll see after the eyelids are received from the people who preordered them. - Jitek
