Dear Valued Customer,

Unfortunately we are out of Red midpipes right now. We will be sending
more
to the powdercoater tomorrow and hope to have them back by next monday.
We
would like to let you know of this delay and offer a polished midpipe
as an
alternative to avoid the wait. If you would like to wait that is fine
just
let us know so we can get the intake out to you asap.

ok they offered red to you because they were out of polished ones? or is that different from silver?
now they are asking if i want polished when i ordered red....wtf is going on...

There's a lesson in Customer Management and relations here. Customer satisfaction is 1 part great product and 2 parts service. All I want is somebody to commit to delivering what they promised and not be left here to speculate whether or not I'm getting jacked.

Amen to that brother.

Now hopefully all the parts will be included in your shipment. Wouldn't that be nice?

WooHoo!! I finally got a hold of someone. My intake got shipped, I just received no e-mail. Scott told me that since the intake was shipped two-day air I should probably receive it tomorrow (fri). It this is so, I will pardon the lack of prompt customer service. Just relieving you guys, I know you were worried.

Maybe someone will do before and after dyno's so we actually know what gains are acheived from this intake. I searched on this and was reading about it all last night and seems there really isn't a concrete number except for what Steve at FC dyno'd...

BTW, you're the luckiest bastard out of all of us, FtNx. You happy lucky bastart.. haha just kidding.

There are instructions on their website. I hope that it's as easy as everyone says it is. I sure don't want to screw something up and tie up my car.

Got mine today at lunch, also no instructions. Called Scott at Frankencar, he said they dont have specific instructions for the '04, but to use the '03 ones instead, and to call back if any problems. I'll do tomorrow morning! Hopefully no problems!

Instructions on the webpage? Can't find them... can someone post a direct link? Or if there's no instructions online, could someone with access to a fax machine and has the instruction sheet with them (for the 2003 I guess, closest to '04) fax them to me? 831-424-3750 Put attention: Chris Austin Thanks!

My wife just called, and my intake just arrived. Don't know if I'll have time this week end to put it on, but I'm excited to get this done.

hey i was just wondering if I received everything for my 2k1 intake... here is what I got:

-1 MAF Adapter
-a red and black coupler
-an all black reducer? (kinda like the coupler)
-4 clamps that are all the same size.. (Ive seen some where there are 2 of one size and 2 of another, maybe that was for another year's model)
-bent piece of metal that goes onto the strut tower
-midpipe (it has a hole right next to the skinny pipe and the skinny pipe has two skinnier pipes coming out of it at the end (I have no idea what those are for?)...is this the correct one for a 2001?)
-KN Filter

is that everything? I didnt get instructions though, or stickers damnit, i wanted the stickers, ah well...

Did you guys reset the ecu? I thought that I did, but I may not have done it correctly/long enough. It ran crappy until I shut her down and restarted her, then it runs smooth, but worse pull than stock... Help.

I'm thinking I didn't have the battery disconnected long enough. I did a search and read up on the the correct way to do the resetting for the 2k2+, but I have a 2k. I'm going to just disconnect it again and let her take a time out for more than an hour this time. Any feedback is appreciated...

I always thought you didn't have to reset the ecu. I thought it just took a few days to learn. Similar with y-pipe, or any thing for that matter. The way I figure it is this: say a sensor goes out or you get a leak in a canister, the ecu ,I don't believe ,picks this up immediately. Its kind of similar to resetting the ecu by the pedals. You can reset that when you get a cel, but after some time of driving the light is going to come back on if you haven't fixed the problem. make sense?

So FtNx, check your connections and give it a few days to pick up.

Okay... I removed and reinstalled the new intake. I tightened the hell out of the clamps this time. I reoriented the MAF. Hopefully, my car will give me back some acceleration in a few days. Basically I've been experiencing growl = loss in power.

The Florida heat probably doesn't help matters; despite the fact that I got to it at 7 a.m., before it was blistering hot.

Yeah, mine came the same way. The smaller clamp goes closest to the throttle.

I just installed the new intake and took her for a spin. First of all, it took waaaayyy more than 30 minutes to install . The intake sounds nice, but I'm not sure how much increase in hp I'm getting. I'll drive it for a couple of days just to let things get to know each other under the hood. But get this, my "SES" light was on before, and now it's gone

I took the battery out of the car (just so that I could reach one of the screws on the old air box) and when I put the battery back in the "SES" light that was on before, was now gone. So I'm guessing that my ECU was reset. The battery was out of the car for about 3 hours.
