Quote: I did the same last night. I decided to buy the full set after all, and just ordered the brake lines, too. So much for staying on a budget LOL

What brake lines did you order?? Is your Max a 2002-03?? I've been looking for a place that sells SS lines for my 2K2, but I have yet to find one.

I have a 2K, and I bought the lines from Stillen. I believe they fit 2000-2003 models. They're a little pricey (like all of Stillen's stuff), but I know they'll make a big difference in the brakes. It's worth it to me.

same here..
i ended up going with Hawk HPS for the fronts and, after much searching, with Raybestos Quietstops for the rears.

Whoa! Is that right?
I called the guys for the powerslot group deal and they said yay for the rotor plus 2k2 match, but gave me a nay on axxis brake pads for the 2k2.
Hmm... Jeez. Kinda torn now.... who to listen to...
maxima.org members or the people dealin the pads?
Any help here?

From what i understand with Ange's post - she still needs to check with her distributor. So that's either a nay or yay with regards to 2k2 applications of the Axxis MM's.

As far as i can tell from Jessica and her group, they deal largely on Axxis pads, so they probably also know what's available and what's not. Someone prove me wrong on the non-availability of 2k2/3 pads.

Hmmm.... your present good points. I know I contacted Angie and told her I was looking for Axxis MM rear pads for my 2002 Maxima, and she never mentioned anything questioning the availability of Axxis MM pads for a 2K2. Try giving her a call and maybe there will be better resolution to this concern.

just ordered my set of 4 (front and rears) today...

i did ask which pads are recommended and jessica said there isn't any for a 2k2 max and should check later... i'm puzzled myself as i have seen hawk has 2k2 front pads...

is it even good to have different brand pads front and rear?

i'm in no hurry to swap rotors so i haven't got pads yet, but the deal was too good to pass up... i will be searching for pads once there is more availibility (hopefully within a month).

I order a full set of rotors and pads, and paid for them (Paypal) on 9/25. A week later, I received a half-set of pads (I'm still not sure if they're front or rear). I called them twice last week to see what was up, and no one could find any record of my order in their system (not exactly reassuring). I asked to speak to Jessica about it, and I mentioned the org, but she wouldn't come to the phone. Another guy relayed a message from Jessica that the majority of the orders had already been shipped, and that mine were waiting on a new shipment of rotors which was due last week sometime.

I expect to be calling them back tomorrow to find out the status.

Has anyone received their stuff yet?

Okay, just got word back from Jessica.

There was an issue betweeen PPS and their supplier. It's been worked out already however so the items should be shipping out shortly.

Though i'm not selling these, i'd like to apologize to everyone concerned for the inconvenience.

Soundmike,

Thanks for getting an update on this GD. I didn't post to vent at anyone in particular...I was just trying to see if everyone was experiencing a delay in receiving their orders. Hopefully, the rotors will be arriving soon.

Same here...

If they are gonna charge our CC's before even shipping them, I look forward to giving a bad rating 'cause that seems to be bad business practice.

If i may, you are right - it is bad business practice and i think Jessica should know about it.

Though in their defense (which is barely acceptable but at least you guys should know), it seems that the whole fulfillment process is done in 3 steps. Order-taking, Fulfillment and Shipping.

The way i understand it is once you order, normally the fulfillment department packs these up and ships them out. The Shipping department OTOH does what it's supposed to do almost immediately after receving them from fulfillment.

As such, it looks like the order-taking department is set-up so that once an order is placed the card is automatically charged on the presumption that the other two processes are working flawlessly.

Of course, when issues like this arise - the order taking department won't have any notice until a later time that fulfillment or the shipping department had a glitch.

That's how i understand it anyway, and again - it's not really much of an excuse, but at least it's better than not knowing what's going on.

Sure do. It's paypal@performancepartsstore.com

Though i suggest you wait at least until the end of this week. Seems the newer buyers are having issues getting their orders in late. I'd rather PPS get that sorted out first before i suggest more business their way.

Ok guys... i wanna your help... do you guys think that is better to get rotors from custommaxima.com for $200 (i can pick up them because their store is located in the CT) or from this GD for $180? some guys have problems from this GD... like shipping blah blah...

Not so much that it's bad business, but PPS had some issues with their supplier. As of last time i talked to Jessica the issues are being resolved/has been resolved.

If you feel more comfortable getting them from Custommaxima (also being local) - go ahead.

Hey guys I ordered from this GD about two weeks ago and have still not received any rotors. So I call this morning and talk to this guy who states there is some sort of delay with the supplier, so that his been the holdup. Well i was going to cancel my order, but the guy assures me that they are coming in tomorrow and will ship tomorrow, so I should receive them this weekend. I guess the only reson I did not cancel was because at least the guy has been honest about it and so far my CC has not been billed. Hopefully this time I get my rotors, and so does everyone else.

Thanks for the patience and understanding. Jessica has been quite apologetic about the delays - she assured me that once the shipment comes in they will expedite the shipping to all those who have been waiting on these.

Update: I just received an e-mail from Performance Plus. My stuff was shipped yesterday, and is due here today. The shipment was made FedEx, which was a pleasant surprise.

I wasn't happy with the delays and lack of communication, but I thought it only fair to update everyone when the stuff did finally ship.

Not one of the 15 hits from an ebay search for "maxima brembo" yeilded a set of brakes for a 5th gen. IF YOU READ THE TITLE IT SAYS FOR 5th GEN's!!!!!

So I'd suggest you crawl back outta this thread and go elsewhere!!!!!

Hmmm...I just did this and found nothing for 2002-03 Maximas...unless I missed something. If these are available for 2002-03 MAximas, please post the link.

Also, FYI: be wary of calling people names, as such actions aren't very considerate...especially when the information is incomplete and innaccurate for 5th Gen'ers.

There is no link for 5th Gen rotors. This is what what happens when "morons" read half a thread and jump to conclusions.

Thanks for giving me updates on your orders guys.

Jessica assured me that whoever was waiting for their orders would have their stuff shipped "Next Day" - which i think is noble enough for them to do considering the amount of time everyone has been waiting.
