Hi guys,

The catback on my car is starting to rust through and since I'm stuck with this car for awhile, I started to look into aftermarket options. It seems like the only complete aftermarket catback right now available for the 3rd gen is the Greddy SP. With the Greddy SP, the muffler is stainless steel, but the piping is not. Because of this, the chances of it rusting through in the future is good.

Anyway, I wanted a stainless steel one so I sent Cattman an email to see if he would be willing to create one for the 3rd gen. He said if I can get 8 people who are willing to wait 6-8 weeks and pre-pay @ 600 each, he'd whip something up for us.

Oh yeah, we'd need someone in LA willing to make their car available for prototyping as well. So if you're interested, post here.

Willing to wait 6-8 weeks and prepay $600:

I have an idea for you... I can sell you my 3A Racing muffler (dual tips) for $50 + shipping and you can go to your muffler shop for a custom b-pipe for ~$100... you'll save a lot of $$$$$... believe me! I got my muffler for $60 and another $100 for a custom 2.5'' b-pipe (no resonator)... so all together?? hmmm 100+60 = 160!!!

no thanks. money isn't the issue here. if i can't find enough people that are interested by the end of november, i'll just order the greddy sp.

Well... I'm close enough to LA and go there often enough... I'd offer to guinea pig my SE... but because of my current project... that Cattman catback will be useless to me.

My aunt does however own a GXE that I could probably borrow for a while to have this done. So just let me know and I'd be willing to guinea pig. And good luck getting 8 orders @ $600... you're gonna need it. Took us forever just to get 30 orders of $50 for the gauge pods.

... yea my GReddy cat back did already rot through ... i had to go and get it welded. but it seems to be ok now. i may be interested ... can you send me some pics.

but the main thing that intrests me is the way this is going to sound. The only reason i bought the GReddy is b/c i sounded good. i dont want to get some crappy sounding exhaust.

hey. i don't have any pictures because cattman won't prototype until we have the 8 prepaid orders and then it'll be 6-8 weeks out from that. you can get a good idea of what it'll look like looking at his other catback systems and read up on what he has to say about them.

I don't get it why waste your money on a cat back protopype when there are cheaper alternatives out there that will give you the same if not better results??? Afterall a cat back is not going to give you much of a gain in hp anyway. Everyone knows that comes from the y-pipe not the cat back. Well unless you have forced induction. Save your money for better mods imho

Hey.. Did you ever play counterstrike a couple years ago? if so do you remember closer or the SYB clan. You have a pretty original name, man that would be sweet if it was you.

i'm not necessarily looking for a hp gain but rather something that will last for a long time. I only have 105k mi on my car and I'll be stuck with it for awhile. Because the winters where I am are notorious, I'm afraid that the aluminized steel won't last too long.

if your question is directed at me, I started playing cs about 2 years ago on a server called Denver CS, then =HPSF= Denver CS. If so, that's me.

check with warpspeed performance, if you really want all SS they can hook you up. Not to mention they have a 5 year guarantee on all their aluminized stuff.
