Nice! I highly recommend this clutch, however I think you will have more success if you can extend it abit. People normally dont buy the clutch unless theirs is dying. That brings up the point of if you buy it now you will probably save around $70 vs. waiting until your stock clutch dies.

I highly recommend the stage I (which has a 36% over stock holding capacity according to exedy).
The stage II has a 84% over stock holding capacity.
Both kits use the same 1760lbs clamp load pressure plate (IIRC).

how does the clutch feel on this? most ACT's are hard as *****, since the clamping power on this is almost as strong, does the left leg get a work out while driving?

I personally have not tried either, but after talking to many .org guys and some clutch experts at SEMA show, the exedy Stage I is more easy on the transmission, much easier to drive (almost like stock) compared to ACT's. The Stage II is recommended if you are planning to go way over 300hp and use the car for very aggressive driving / racing application.

O.K. guys, I can bring the price down to $265/shipped with only 5 orders, ($250/shipped with 7+ orders) on Stage I, so let's make a list, like this:

MaxedUp 93 VE - Stage I - 2 sets
jcy98maxse 98 - Stage I - 1 set

i believe the stage 2 maybe a 3 puck sprung plate.

i was told 3 puck clutches are hell for a daily drive car.

yes they are.

I had ACT xtreme racing clutch and I had to dump the clutch all the time. Car launches and bounces forward if you try to do a smooth engagement method. Definitely not recommended for street use.

I just picked up a 6-puck Stage 2 Bully clutch. Break-in was a pain but now it's pretty smooth. Finding the sweet spot in 1st was the hardest part.

for the record i have a stage 1 now and its a little harder than stock but not as hard as my ACT. The grabbing power is ridiculous though, i let it break in and i'm very happy with it.

That is not the lowest price ever. They were being sold by MaxxTunning for 235-shipped. Anyways, from experience, this is a great clutch for power mods. If you have nitrous or forced induction, its a great clutch. If your all motor, theres no need...

Oh, and i got mine for 282 shipped without GD pricing

all of you with exedy stage 1, comment on your pedal feel and the disengagement... does it take alot of effort to push the pedal down?

To the best of my knowledge here is the list so far:

1) MaxedUp - 93VE - Stage I
2) Jcy98maxse - 98 - Stage I
3) DMaximus - 97 - Stage I
4) Maxtank - 99 - StageI

Heres the deal:

Peddle effort will obviously increase. Its a stiffer feel, but nothing unbearable or annoying (i.e. any mustang). What ive noticed lately since the weather has been colder is the increase of chatter when its cold. Over summer, i really didnt notice much if any because of the scalding hot temps (90+). Now that the temps are reaching 40-ish at night it feels more pronouced. It goes away after some driving around town, once the tranny gets all warmed.

As for clutch engagement, its feels like if you raise you foot 1/2-1 inch, it fully engages, unlike the stocker, which is way higher. It will definately throw you off the first time. I stalled my car the first time i drove it

Same here. The first time I drove the car after the install I stalled. I wasnt expecting it to grab so quick. I dont have any chatter though.

Are you guys ready to go or you rather wait for more people to get that $235/shipped deal.
BTW, I can also get lightened Fidanza flywheels for $360/shipped and you can order it via this group deal at the same time.
Thanks, HenrikGal@Aol.com

How much are OEM clutches? What are my other choices? Since my stock clutch still works I haven't really researched a new one. I enjoy driving hard, but am not willing to risk hurting ruining my transmission for a better time (I have heard some of the aftermarket clutches have killed the tranny). I may very well be willing to go in on this, but it'd take a few days for me to commit, so if you want to go now then go ahead and I'll get one elsewhere.
