It looks like more than 20 people are interested...is it going to happen???also, the ebay TB spacers have grooves on the inside of the spacers to twist the air entering, do these have that?

the spacers seperate the intake manifold from the engine, they don't conduct heat, so the manifold stays cooler. I think thats the idea there

Pardon my ignorance, how can these spacers lower the intake temperature - they are really thin?!?

It's the material they're made out of. Phenolic has very little heat transfer. Pat over in the 3rd gen forum put similar material on his stove and heated. He could then put his hand on the top side and not get burned. He then flipped em over and did the same.

How long would it take to get this at our doorstep? Assuming you got enough serious people, maybe some deposits. I know development, and manufacturing would take some time.

We're probably looking at about 2 months for development. Right now we need a car available in the Indianapolis area for the testing. They didn't want mine because I'm 3hrs away.

Oh and as for the grooves I doubt they have it. I've seen those on some spacers and think that actually slows the airflow a bit.

As for MEVI and 70mm TB's we're not gonna tackle that right now. First I wanna get the regular USIM design done and show OE a return on their investment. Then we'll do the MEVI next - I assume the lower spacer would be the same and we just have height/sizing issues to consider.

Put me on the list for a set. If it is going to take two months or so, you may have to shoot me an e-mail to remind me once everything has been worked out and it becomes available moka21@hotmail.com.

Agreed, I'm in too. Any fitment issues could be resolved on our own unless there was a problem with hood clearance. I have spaced before and it's a worthwhile mod.

I really think that this could work...I'm saving up for a VI right now. I'm in, I really want to see what these spacers would do for my car. After fittment issues have been solved, of course!

So has anyone actually figured out how hard they'd be to install? I'm an hour away from Indy right now, if they wanted to use my car...but I would guess there MIGHT be a Maxima that lives somewhere in Indy.

I think dynos will come AFTER development. I will say that as to my experience. They DO help suprisingly more than you think.

In my opinion there won't be any problem in installation. I have a MEVI and don't see any hood clearance issues. I'm 100% in favor of this being developed.

Would you guys sell just the throttle body portion of it? How much power would just that piece yield? I would go with both but my dad would flip if he saw me taking the engine apart..

Imstock, there wouldnt be that much power with only the TB because longer runners to the manifold tend to produce more power, of cource this is only to a certain extent.

If you can't find someone local they could at least make one and send it to someone for fitment testing. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Will the engine eventually become heatsoaked?

If your engine is "heat-soaked", will these not really have any performance increase at that point due to the temp of the environment/surroundings?
