Install?
I've received the intake (thanks much!) and now I need to do the install. I didn't see any instructions in the box and I've searched through a bunch of threads looking for some install instructions and/or pics.
Here's the best I've found, really:
1. Remove the bolts holding the stock air box in and the support bracket on the strut tower.
2. Loosen the clamp on the MAF.
3. Remove the stock airbox with MAF attached
4. Loosen the 10mm bolts holding the MAF to the airbox
5. Place the MAF and o-ring off to the side carefully
6. Disconnect the breather line from the resonator box
7. Loosen the clamp on the Throttle body and pull the rest off.
8. Put one silicone coupler on the throttle body( it helps if you lube the edge with some chapstick or dab of vaseline first), then clamp it down.
9. Put one silicone coupler on the MAF, also lube that too, then clamp it down
10. Using the STOCK MAF bolts, attach the adapter to the MAF and tighten in a criss cross pattern, make sure the o-ring is in there.
11. Attach and clamp the filter to the adapter.
12. Insert the tube into the rubber coupler on the Throttle body side and clamp it down
13. Attach the MAF and filter assembly to the tube and clamp it down.
14. Attach the bracket to one corner of the MAF adapter plate and then the other end to the hole on the strut tower where the bracket for the stock airbox was using one of the shorter stock bolts.
16. Make sure all connections are good and tight
16. Start car, feel that power
I'd feel a lot better if you could point me to a better set of instructions. I've worked on my cars a bit, but it seems like there are a lot of questions around the MAF sensor removal and install, bracket/no bracket, scoop/no scoop, air temp sensor in scoop, etc.
I need my car to run and I'd hate to get half-way through, run into an issue, and end up posting here fishing for answers.
Thanks again for the help...

Hey guys I bought my A'pexi filter adaptor from Berk Tuning... let's just say they were LESS than half the price of the competition for the exact same piece. I recieved it in 3 days, exactly as described and couldn't be happier. Thanks!!

Yes, it's 3" opening. Approximately 8" long, plenty big enough to support the VQ30 or VQ35.
Received my intake yesterday. Excellent! Very fast responses and delivery. I could use on of those manuals though CobyMoby. You have my e-mail address.

Paint and powdercoating just isn't as nice as polished aluminum. If you're on a REALLY tight budget then I guess it would work....

Once I finally got a call back, they said they still didn't know when they would have parts.
Bryan at Berk shipped my parts the DAY AFTER I ORDERED and sent the tracking numer. Thanks man!!
Now I just can't wait for delivery!
Hey guys, I just drop my Berk Mid-pipe to a chroming shop, they will copper plate, nickel plate, polish after each step and finally chrome plated, the Chrome quality is the best money can buy, it will cost me around 110$ cdn because they will satin finish the inside so there will be less friction. I will post pics in 2 -3 weeks when my parts get back. I also have both street scene grill chrome as well with the same process. If any of you are interested by this service pm me and I can have all your parts chromed, basically anything made out of metal can be chrome with quality show. The turn around is 2-3 weeks, and I can ship anywhere in the world.

The length of the pipe does effect the intake pulse somewhat. For a high reving motor the length must be tuned to the correct length to help the engine "pump" air into the intake manifold. However, with a lower reving engine like the VQ, you won't see much of a difference with in performance. I did some basic calculations when designing the length of the pipe, mine ended up being about .25 inches shorter than the FC pipe.
Just got back from a test drive after my installation of my Berk intake. Sound is very nice and I love the get up and go. Just one question- is a whistling sound under moderate to heavy throttle normal or do I have a leak?
