The original fiberglass Prototype is already en route to the manufacturer and I just got my DDE kit in this weekend so unfortuanately we don't have an actual picture example of this yet. We're just waiting to get all the orders in 1st before we commit to beginning production.

I would love to see pics of your DDE's with the eyelids as soon as they become available. I'm pretty sure that it won't be a factor, but I don't want to risk the eyelids covering too much of the DDE's.

 

will these be easily cut- i think they should be cut straight across in line with the hood line?(the current design covers too much of the rings for us DDE owners)

 

In order for these eyelids to ever become available, we need 10 initial buyers.

 

Hey, check out the previous link for pics of these eyelids at all angles. The DDE's were taken into consideration when we designed the final prototype (heck, I'm installing them too!) It won't cover that much of the rings at all, mostly just the top part of the rings that isn't a complete circle...

I like taking chances, i.e. I was the first one to buy the VIS CF invader style hood, also took a chance of putting APC wing, and also the CF splitters. My Max is like guinea pig......hehe

Whether you keep your current front end or get the JT one, I think they'll look really good, especially with your splitters

I know you already have the design picked out for the eyelids and I think they look good, but I just wanted to show you what I did to my Max last November to see what they'd look like. All I used was electrical tape. It looks bad azz from a distance, but when you get close you can tell that it's just black tape, as you can see by the pictures. You can also see them HERE.

I think I keep imagining CF to be lighter than it is. It's nearly black, right? If so, I think it will be too dark on my car.

 

According to triple8, you can paint it. That's what I'm planning on doing.

 

Well it's a CF weave which means it's basically these black and grey fibers woven together. Depending on the angle and the lighting, it can look flat or glossy, black or grey...

Either way, it will look awesome and, of course, it is paintable and reshapeable if you so desire...
