Carbon Fiber Trunk Lid (97-99) Group Deal..

This group deal is for the 4th generation, 97-99, Carbon Fiber trunk lid. These pieces are being produced by Ionic Dynamics in SoCal. These are complete carbon fiber pieces with a fiberglass inside skin, painted flat black. These trunk lids will use the highest quality resin, resistant to UV rays and resistant to any yellowing or hazing. The keyhole has been eliminated on the carbon fiber lids for aesthetic reasons and to get rid of a lot of time that would be needed to transfer over all the parts.

The stock trunk lid weighs in at 47lbs according to my contact at nissan, and the carbon fiber trunk lid weighs 21lbs. These trunk lids will utilize your stock latch and will bolt safely to the car. Pins are a strong recommendation to make sure of no incidents. I have driven my car around for a few days with no pins and have had no problems. I also have been playing my stereo as loud as possible to listen for any vibrations or rattling and have heard nothing at all. The install on the trunk lid is an hour process or less, roughly 6 bolts for the lid and latch, 8 bolts/nuts for the tail lights and moving the wire harnesses around.

The production time on these units is 2 weeks or less with shipping time tacked on. Shipping (freight) will be $115.00 added to the final price to ensure full insurance, a fully custom built box with packaging to ensure damage is very unlikely to happen. There is no reason to even take a chance using a cheaper freight company and not fully covering the insurance.

Pricing on the trunk lids will be $650.00, once 10 people have been confirmed those units will be produced and sent out accordingly. If there ends up being 20 people or more that are firm buyers (with deposits), we can knock the price down to $600.00

I would like to do a $25.00 deposit (via paypal), to ensure firm buyers and to keep the group deal on task. This deposit is non-refundable but will be put towards the final price of the lid (so $625.00 will be left over and be the final payment, not including shipping cost). You do not have to pay the full payment by paypal, but it is needed for the deposit. All payment instructions will be posted upon receiving deposits, the paypal deposits can be sent to ssjztien@aol.com

Here are some good quality/daytime photos of the car, you can see that the driver's side has a 1/8" gap near the tail lights, but it is an up and down adjustment, which just has to do with the 2 mounting bolts on the trunk arms. This trunk lid fits perfectly and we ensure that you will not need to do any modification or have any trouble with fitament:

Well when you have 4-5 companies making the hoods, there are ways around cutting costs and getting things a lot cheaper. You also have to realize how much easier it is to make a hood, rather than a trunk lid.

I do realize that it is not a cheap modification, however, it is a lot cheaper than those made for the bmw/audi/wrx guys who have about the same aftermarket support. These units are also being made in the U.S. and not being made in bulk.

if i sent deposit when will final payment be due? and can u send money order? yeah i understand what your saying. although i really never looked into prices for CB trunks for other cars. but it does look difficult. can you get a picture underneath the CB trunk? wondering if it looks like some of the CB hoods. i got one on my 2003 lexus is300, and its kinda a messy job underneath.

I don't really get how it is a lot, if you look at the same market of cars and what they have to pay? I mean if you really think that these should go for $400.00 you are sorely mistaken on how much these things cost and how much volume we can really push. Maybe if I had 50 buyers or so it could drastically lower the price, but we all know that will not happen.

This price will probably be the best price offered on these trunk lids.

The left side is slightly off, however, it is an UP and DOWN adjustment that can easily be made by loosening the two bolts on the trunk arm and sliding the trunk lid down a little more.

DO NOT worry, these trunks lids fit just like OEM and will not bring about any installation problems. I had put this trunk lid on at around 11pm when I got off of work, and I was dead tired so I didn't really adjust it. If you know how the trunk lid mounting system works you can easily fix that small misalignment.

yeah theres no way 50 people will get on this. but if the price is at 400 with 50 people and you gave people 3-4 weeks. you might pull it off. look how many people got CB hoods now. BTW, will there be GD on this in future? I plan on getting it this time around, i just hope i can come up with extra 200 within 2 weeks(sadly i will )

the quality looks great! BTW who runs team eci? you guys have a very nice car club. every car looks sweet!

and jason one more thing, those headrest you go in back, they aren't custom fited right? or i30 seats come like that? cause i mean to do this getting my 2-tone this summer. thank!

Yea if the price is at $400, I am in right now, but $600, is kinda steep, thats like waiting around till summer time. :-(, at first I naively thought that these would be cheaper than the hoods, but then I thought about it, and you are right, the pricing does make sense.(that is in respect to the price of c/f hoods)

I realize that $600+ is a good chunk of change, but as stated before it is just not feasable to lower the price without a lot of interest. I make basically nothing on these trunk lids and Ionic Dynamics barely comes out on top when doing just 1 lid.

I would love to have $400 trunk lids, if someone else can do it for that cheap more power to them. These lids are guarranteed to fit, to not need custom work and to do what they are said to do. I can leave this group deal open and assess the interest, if a lot more people jump on the price could go down a lot lower.

And if people send a deposit, and start a payment, if 20 people get on the deal out of nowhere, money will be returned accordling.

Please send deposits to my paypal address: ssjztien@aol.com and the rest of the payment can be made by whatever payment method you desire.

if you are only doing $25 in paypal, it shouldn't be an issue, plus i use paypal for everything because it's an easy organizational system. it is more likely to lose the money order in the mail than it is to lose something in paypal.

the rest you can pay by paypal.

krismax - i am waiting for someone to post pictures of a 97 trunk on a 95, i've heard it's not that bad.

once 10 people submit deposits, production starts and 2-3 weeks after that you will receive your trunk lid.

Yes. But 10 people is where I wanted to start the group deal... just to have a nice round number.

Price will stay the same on whatever 10 or under there are, but after this deal the price may go up to a normal retail price.

The 5th gen trunk lid is actually more intricate in shape which may replace lost work in tail lights. The overall trunk lid itself is much more complex. We shall see, so far there seems to be no interest in a 4th generation trunk lid so I am going to be damned if I waste my time and money on more unsuccessful products.

What were you talking about rastamanmax?

I will most likely be buying the trunk lid if it is still available. I simply need about a week to get the money together. Let me know if you will still be making them. I guess you have already sold one to slammed.

You have to wait alittle while at least before you make the judgement nobody has interest. People who want these are probably trying to collect the money, it is alot but i think its worth it. But the 95-96 max's are excluded and that doesnt help. If it looks good on a 95-96 max i would like to see a pic if its possible.

i agree and i do get impatient, i guess it's just hard to get new things going and envision return but not get anything right away.

this deal will be on for a decent amount of time, maybe a month or so.. just need to keep the orders coming.

i have decided that i will take individual orders if you want to pay right away, that will be fine with me and we can figure that out in a pm or email.

jason

slammed95- contact me about payment.
