I'll try and explain it... this mod is for people who are either: A: very serious about racing and thus the weight reduction is well worth the money. B: Trying to have the coolest, most unique maxima possible.

When you have everything else.. *cough, thebigsadler* A mod such as this one sets you apart from the rest. The next time he goes to a show with other maximas, they're probably all going to be saying "holy ****, where'd you get that" etc... Now, I'm sure if they were able to offer this for 300-400$, they would, but its not a great business practice to sell things for under cost.

You gotta pay to play.

*bump for a seriously awesome product...

I think 300-400 is too much to pay for this! Maybe if it were $27.00 then I would buy it! I mean, why do the Honda guys get to pay less than us! That's so not fair.

And while we're at it, everything made for the Maxima is too expensive. I want $50 rims, $100 turbo kits, and $20 body kits.

Jason, you're just trying to rip all of us off! I can't believe you're charging $600 for this. You should sell it at a loss so the rest of us can have cheap parts.

Right, it is your opinion. But posting in Jason's thread when he is trying to drum up interest in this product is rude and in bad form. Especially without actually knowing how much these trunklids cost to make or anything else about them. Jason himself paid more than $600 for his trunklid because he wanted it made. He is trying to start this GB so the company that makes them will start official production of the trunklid. It's not a mod for everyone, but it is always a good thing for new parts to be made. And it's attitudes like yours that restrict and limit company's interest in the Maxima market. You gotta pay to play. If it's too much for you, then get out of the game.

Its a forum.........a place that opinions rather right or wrong will be posted. If you cant bring something to the table and accept some negative feedback and push on...........then you shouldnt be bringing anything to the table in the first place.
Attitudes like mine that limit companies interest?? That sounds like business to me. Its only a smart move to not produce a product if their is a lack of interest. Maybe if there were more...of people apparently not like me....more things would get produced. I'm not the type to complain about a lack of mods, or things to do to my maxima. I take whats out there and work with it, if something new pops up on the market and its highly priced...then by god I'm gonna voice my opinion that its a high priced mod.
Besides I'm not even the first person to mention it in this thread.
You guys act like I'm accusing jason and or iconic of making some huge profit off this deal. The point is wow we werent expecting that price.........so we stated it. Maybe one day it will drop even lower if more people show interest, who knows.

1. how many people own civics? how many people own maximas?
how many people hook up civics? and how many people hook up maximas?

2. thast why its so expensive. if you want cheap parts go get a civic then. and go to pep boys and buy your APC intake or APC tailights. this was produced by him cause he maybe wanted it. or wanted to offer more things. if you dont want it then WTF post here anyway?

if you wanna change the lok of your rear end then buy it. if not go on ebay and buy some altezzas and see if it looks better.

Its not Jason's problem that you don't have $$ to afford Unique stuff? HE posted this thread for people who ARE interested in the lid so he can sell these to them. HE did not ask your opinion if this is expensive in YOUR opinion or not. Personally I cannot afford this so I am not even gona bother posting that i DONT need this lid.

By posting in his GD thread, you are just showing how cheap you are in the first place. If it really bothers you then go ahead and start a thread in 4TH GEN forum and complain and bish about it.

You gotta PAY to PLAY!

BTW how many people we have so far for this deal Mr Sadlar?

A civic has what to do with this discussion? Did I say anything about a civic?? Did I complain that our parts are so much more expensive then civics? NO!

Points have been made, let's let it go please.

Fact is, we do not own a car that can bring in enough production volume to warrant such cheap pricing. And if you don't understand why the product is as much as it is, or you question the price then it is not for you.

I encourage anyone interested to try and get this made on their own and for cheaper. Just realize that I put my own money out there for this one and I am putting my name and ionic dynamics on it.

eventhough it's pricey, but it's still cheaper then anyone else...seibon/vis racing start at 800 for them to make u a custom cf trunk....they told me it can run all the way up to 2g's.....depending on how much work they do.....even though i think it's expensive, i'd still fork out the money to buy it for a 5thgen....

I just hope you reread my original post and realize the sarcasm.

Not only am I good friends with jason, but I'm one of the few people here with more money in my Maxima than his. And I'm one of the main defenders of why Maxima parts have to cost more.

I would have this trunklid, but decided it won't go with the flow/look i'm going for.

way to go thebigsadler this is one hell of a mod for you to make available to 4th genners. you deserve all kinds of props. right on man it looks great, is functional, and yes it is pricey. we need to stop b*tching about price. if you guys cant afford it that's that, dont be angry because the price is so high.
