second skin isn't very high quality in my opinion. i had it installed on my acura legend, double layered the trunk, and the rattling still persisted. there was no difference with or without it

 

eckohb which ss dampner did you use? I'm looking to do a group deal for STFU80 which got really good reviews on most of the car audio forums. Everyone had good things to say about it.

As for price I'm going to contact the SS sales rep today and see what he can do. But I wanted to see how much interest there was first so I don't waste anyones time.

We could also do a possible GD with Raamaat as well but i've heard mixed reviews about batches of raamaat that ended up melting. In all those cases they were given new raamaat however do you want to go through that hassle? They say though since then quality control has gone up.

 

i ordered the second skin, i guess its just the regular kind like original dynamat...i had heard good reviews about it too, but maybe it was just the car. i dont know

I think that's the answer. This stuff is 1/4 the cost of dynamat and better quality. I have about 75 square feet installed in my car right now.

Most rattles are due to plastic panels vibrating. You need to put something thick between the panel and the metal. I used the second skin dampener on the metal pieces and stuffed old towels, T-shirts, and eggcrate foam between the plastic and second skin.
