Cattman group deal on KYB GR2 struts

Cattman Performance KYB GR2 Group Deal

Due to their increasing popularity, Cattman Performance is adding the KYB GR2s to our product line and we'll begin with a group deal at the prices below. The GR2 group deal will last 2 weeks (till 15 March), with the possibility of extending it for 2 more.

95-99 Maxima and I30 KYB GR2 struts - $245/set, shipped*
00-03 Maxima, I30 and I35 KYB GR2 struts (KYB originals, not conversions) - $295/set, shipped*

If you're ready to convert to a nice sport suspension, we'll include our favorite springs - the Progress Sport Springs, which work great with the GR2s - also at a special price:

95-99 Maxima and I30 KYB GR2 struts AND Progress Sport Springs - $380/set, shipped*
00-03 Maxima, I30 and I35 KYB GR2 struts AND Progress Sport Springs - $430/set, shipped*

*free shipping within the continental US (no extra charges for insurance like the some of the EBay merchants). Shipping costs over $10 will be added to orders to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Canada and elsewhere - contact me by email to get a shipping quote (bcatts@cattman.com).

IMPORTANT - We've got to run this deal on the cheap to offer these prices, which means:

1) Orders must be sent by mail. No group deal orders will be accepted by phone, but feel free to contact me by email with any questions and I'll monitor this thread; and,

2) Payment is by MONEY ORDER only (every Post Office sells MOs - no personal or bank checks) made out to "Cattman Performance OR <your name>" (if its filled out this way, you'll still be able to cash it if its returned).

With the check, please include the following information on a separate sheet of paper (we never share this with anybody, ever):

- Your name;
- Your address, and shipping address if different;
- Daytime/evening contact phone #;
- Email address; and,
- The part(s) you are ordering and year of car.

(I hate to say this, but please see that its readable if handwritten.)

When sending in an order, please reply to this thread and let me know its on the way so I have a couple days cushion and can keep the supply line full.

SEND the money order and your information to this address:

Fulfillment Services
Cattman Performance, GR2 GD
526 E. 16th Street
Tucson, AZ 85701

There is no minimum order number and you won't wait while the orders build up, these will ship as soon as the MOs are received. If the deal isn't popular, we'll simply withdraw it. If you're new to the forum and want to make sure we're legit, check with fellow forum members for our references - we've been around 6 years, longer than any other Maxima specialists. Your transaction is as secure as it can be.

Check out our other suspension products on sale through the Maxima.org group deal and sponsor forums.

Because of the fairly rigid way the GR2/Spring deal is structured, its limited to those items, under the terms I outlined in the original thread. Other parts should be ordered through my regular order line, including the suspension parts that are on sale, but the GR2 orders may only be submitted by mail. No additional discounts. ;-)

Yup, really need paypal, and really need different springs. According to this:

http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaSprings

...it is not recommended to use progress springs with GR2's. We need to get Maxspeed instead.

I'm working on this too, with a bunch of companies. Nothing definite yet, but I think I'll be ready to post pretty soon. I think $230 shipped for GR-2's is possible. But if you guys prefer to support Cattman, I totally understand. He's done a lot for this .org, and from what I hear his service is great. I'm very happy with my Cattman RSB! I feel bad trying to undercut Cattmann and Jennifer (even though I started on this first haha). It sounds like everyone will win here, because they're all good deals.

Intake's great. I put the K&N on that night, and did the CAI last Sat. I love the sound, and the extra pull's really nice too. Now I'm looking forward to the Ypipe!

I understand it would be more convenient, but the reason that there is no PayPal accepted on this deal is simply because it costs about $8/unit. As tight as the margins are, that's a huge share. $245 is about $10-15 less than the prevailing ebay prices, and that difference just about accounts for the paypal (or credit card) and ebay sales charges per unit.

The objective was to make the part as cheap as possible, and just like cheap airline tickets, that means giving up the frills. The sales terms are not meant to be a hassle - I don't think that buying a money order and sticking it in an envelop is too big a deal - but it is sort of an experiment to determine if we could take away everything possible that adds to the cost of a part in order to offer the lowest price we can. And, by extension, would people rather pay a little more for some conveniences,

How in the world do you say Paypal charges you $8/unit? That just doesn't sound right. In fact, if you put a bank account on there, they can just deposit in right in there for you. There are a few ways that you can do it with no charge at all.

Paypal would be more convenient for me and no doubt the others. But I suspect that one of the reasons Cattman is not accepting paypal is becayse paypal charges certain amount of fee when processing credit cards.

Business accounts get charged fees for accepting payments. I'm not sure what percentage bracket Brian is in - but i'm at 2.75% plus a couple of cents per transaction.

For a $295 item, that translates to close to $9 an item.

I've been away for a long weekend, so didn't reply till now, but PayPal makes a significant share of their revenues by charging the merchant just like the credit cards do (in fact, a little more). For a smaller volume company, the standard rate is roughly 3% of the transaction amount, and that comes to $7-8 for a set of the struts we're discussing. That is a very significant share of the markup once the price goes this low, and in our case, the price just isn't feasible if we have to give it up.

If you can find a way that a merchant can get paid for orders without PayPal getting anything, I would be extremely grateful. However, I've looked through my Merchant Agreement with Paypal closely, and as much as I wish you were right, I think you are mistaken.

kyb dustboots $68 shipped to your door. although it says it's for AGX, but i'm pretty sure it'll fit GR2s no problem. if your stock dustboots still in good shape i say just use that.

i heard tirerack is cheaper, but u'll have to call them for specific kyb dustboots with part number from maita/mustang shocks, wait till their confirm, then shipping, balhbalh

so it's your call.

Sorry for not getting back, took a long weekend away from the internet and am catching up now. Actually, the GR2 deal is bumping along better than it would appear (and the rest of the suspension parts we have on sale are doing great). We've gotten a few checks already and I'll honour every one that comes in, even if a little late - no worries.

In fact, I don't mind extending it till the end of March, as it seems to be gathering a bit of momentum.

Sure, send the check with confidence, we'll take care of you. Its odd that more haven't written in about it, but we've gotten a several checks already and the pace seems to be picking up.

As I mentioned, I'm extending the GR2 sale till the end of March. I can't get into the original message to edit, but consider that official.

I'd be happy to sell you the boots as part of the current suspension sale, but the front struts won't fit with the GR2 group deal. Send me email at bcatts@cattman.com and I'll look up the prices for just the front ones and get back to you with a price for everything.

To the best of my knowledge, the vast Cattman Performance empire does not include a factory in NYC. However, if you're anywhere near Tucson, you are welcome to stop by and pick your parts up here.

Brian, Hi, I just have a few questions for you. I have a really annoying squeek in the back of my car, it seems to be coming either from the springs, or the dust boot covers are really torn out. When I went to the local shop they said that it is your springs that are squeeking becasue of the cold weather. I am wondering if I replace the struts and springs will all that noice go away? Also, when I will get the struts what else do I need to get besides the Dust Boot Covers? (Mounts). Lastly, I know the Gr2's with springs for a 5th Gen will be 380$, how much more do I have to add to the check for you to ship out the dust covers?

Best Regards

The Progress Sport Springs are on sale ($145) right now along with the KYB AGXs and almost all of our other suspension parts, in this thread:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?p=2775060

Sale was scheduled to end tomorrow (March 15) but I've extended it through the end of the week.

We're in Tucson, you're in the NE, so that would be 5 business days via UPS Ground shipment.

Yes, the tracking should be sent automatically if you provide your email address.

I don't know why one set of springs would squeak more than another, but when you say "your springs" do you mean that you have the Progress springs on now? If so, unless there is another brand you prefer, there's no reason to replace your springs, won't make the squeak stop.

The simple compression of a spring cannot make a squeaking sound - a squeak is an audible product of friction between two or more parts - so if the spring was involved at all, its moving against its perch (below) or hat (above). You can get cushioning rings (I'm sure there's a better name) to go between those surfaces. It could just as likely be an issue the upper mount/bushing or the strut.

Anyway, perhaps the squeak is the symptom of a wornout system (along with other indications) and replacing your system will be a solution, but I'll assume that you're doing this primarily to replace worn parts and/or improve handling performance, rather than just solving a squeaking issue. Feel free to write directly with any other questions via my email link, I'm sorry this was overlooked for a few days.

Why, if in this thread, you can get both the GR2's and the Progress sport springs for a total of $380 shipped or you can get just the GR2's for $245 shipped, can you not get just the progress springs for the difference of the two listed above? I don't understand that.
