Wait, did this GD even get over 40 people? If not, then there was no discount for the shifter/e-brake/armrest combo ($90)...
And a question: will the shift boot acommodate a shorter shifter without being all bunched up?
And a question: will the shift boot acommodate a shorter shifter without being all bunched up?
to answer a few questions...
- yes the GD is over. you're more than welcome to order direct from www.redlinegoods.com
- the GD never made it past 30...but i accomidated the people who were in it. so the price dropped down to $55 for the set even though it never got to that price level.
- the items are shipped from poland (hence the delay in ship time). on the package it's listed as "synthetic leather"...if the packages were marked with real leather it might add on customs fees or it might not get past customs.
- no 2 hides will look alike. leather is a natural material and just like your fingerprint no 2 hides will look exactly alike. remember to use some leather conditioner and the leather will work in a little with some use and light.
- if you have a shorter shifter it won't bunch up like u think it would...unless it's shorten by a huge amount. the leather will "dip" down more. but it won't look like a bunched up sock or anything.
if there are any more questions feel free to PM me and i'll get back to u ASAP.
Thanks!

DanNY - I just tried to install the shift boot since the holes are cut etc, but the holes don't line up with the trim piece. I've tried rotating the boot to make sure it wasn't me starting in the wrong place, but it doesn't look like they could possibly be aligned to match the holes. I'd shoot some extra holes, but I'd really rather not be looking at extra holes in the thing.
Help.

from that i saw in his car...the holes clip on to the panel.
check this pic...
http://shadysport.homestead.com/file...s/5genboot.jpg
try to see if the stitching lines up the same way you see in the pic. that might guide you on the positioning of the boot. the overlap/velcro part is on the pass side.
I aligned it like in the pic, and more of the holes line up, but about 1/4 of them don't. I partly fits, but it's real tight in some places where the holes are too close, and loose in other where the holes are too far away. The end result that there are gaps and such and other places where it's obviously very tight.
Also, what about the total lack of holes in the EBrake boot? Should we cut those ourselves?
Ideas on the shift boot?

I need the Ebrake boot, but I have 2k1 auto, will the 5 speed Ebrake boot will fit ? Will the E-boot fit aftermarket Ebrake handle, If so I'll go ahead and buy one right away.
Thanks for helping

Guys,
the holes are always hidden. Please feel free to punch them in the right places if they're a bit off. It will not adversely affect the durability of the product. Just please use a sharp tool, like an ice-pick or a small screwdriver, to make the holes. A small piece of wood underneath the boot would do nice to make sure the leather is not stretched while the hole is being punched.
As for the 5th gen ebrake boot, as you do know it's a totally custom design. There are no pre-made mounting holes or prongs or anything on your car. We don't punch the holes in them, because depending on if you want a more "baggy" or a more stretched look, you can punch them closer or further from the bottom edge.
As with anything custom made, it's a bit more hassle to get it to work, but so much more fun to have something that not many others have. Wouldn't you say?

we've been offering the 4th gen armrest for about a year now. Never had any complaints.

It fits over it but you have to unscrew the plastic piece underneath and then tuck it under all snug like. I used some industrial strength glue to keep it tight then screwed the plastic piece back on. Adds a little more padding that way.
