Maciek -

Thanks for the 10% discount code. I was hesitant about ordering before, but with the discount I'm now going to order the entire package (both boots and armrest cover). Can't wait.

A small piece of wood underneath the boot would do nice to make sure the leather is not stretched while the hole is being punched.

As for the 5th gen ebrake boot, as you do know it's a totally custom design. There are no pre-made mounting holes or prongs or anything on your car. We don't punch the holes in them, because depending on if you want a more "baggy" or a more stretched look, you can punch them closer or further from the bottom edge.

As with anything custom made, it's a bit more hassle to get it to work, but so much more fun to have something that not many others have. Wouldn't you say?

Maciek
Ummmmm, I don't mean to be a pr1ck, but I'd have like to have known ahead of time if the holes were going to need punching. I'm not against doing, I'm pretty handy, it's just that I'd liked to have known that ahead of time. It might even be better to ship them w/ no holes because now I'm looking at shooting extra holes in the thing, and even though you state they'll be covered and therefore isn't a problem, I'd rather have fewer holes not extra holes.

Thanks for letting me know though, I'm pretty sure it will all work out in the end.

Other than this small issue though, I gotta admit you build a nice product.

not sure on the shift ****...are u going to put on a new one? if yeah you can just go and use a pipe wrench or something. any friends w/ vice grips u can borrow?

i assume u clipped the wire so you can just slide 1 edge in and feed it through. it should work ok like that. maybe rub a little WD40/vaseline (no laughing)/leather conditoner on the wire..that might slide it in better.

the holes were cut as same as the stock boot. not sure if there were some variation on the stock piece or not but they should all fit.

DanNY, got the boots yesterday, installed today, thanks

FYI for those of you whose shift boots didn't fit, for my 2k3, I had to rotate the boot several times before it fit. Apparently it only fits one way for the holes ot match up. Fit perfectly for me.

I think 3pedals was refering to the ebrake boot which needs holes punched to secure it. As of right now my ebrake boot is in, but not secured, except for the OEM rubber that's holding it in place. I'm also a little hesitant to punch holes in the boot considering how the stock rubber piece is held in by very tight fitting *****. anyone have any ideas about a better way to secure the ebrake boot without using the stock mounting points?

Thanks to DanNY and Redlinegoods for great customer service and a great product.

Danny,

Finally came yesterday, and I installed my shift boot and the AE shift **** - gorgeous. That boot went right in, and it looks fabulous. Thanks for all the hard work on this! I really appreciate it.

Received - looks good. Dunno when I'll install it.

I recall I'll need to really crank on that shift **** to get it loose (loc-tite). Is a thick rag + vise grips still the best method? I would not like to replace the shift ****.

For all those who ordered both shifter and e-brake boots for 4th-gens: the slightly larger boot is for the e-brake, the smaller one is for the shifter. I learned the hard way and wrinkled the e-brake boot a bit but it still looks good. Now I gotta figure out how to get the armrest cover on tightly....

Hi,

it works just fine for me, you must have pasted it wrong. Here's a new one (that one is already expired).

The code does not give 5% off. It shows like it works but as soon as I hit the PAYPAL button it's $60 again. I'd like to get a 10% discount. I just bought my max a few days ago and the boots are torn. I didn't know I was gonna need them til after the deal was over. If anyone is still looking over this thread I would like:
both boots in black with beige stiching for a 96 maxima.

That offer has expired, but the code will still get you a 5% discount, which is better than nothing! A full set, the two boots and the armrest cover, cost $85.50 with shipping. With the titanium stitching, they should look good with my new Anniversary Addition shift ****. At least I hope so.

AFTER I placed my order with redline, I came across a new discount code in the Sponsors Area forum, good for 10% off through 10/11/2004. Oh well, since they did give me 5% off for the expired code I tried to use (it was worth a try), I'm only "out" $4.50 instead of $9. Still, that's lunch money.

I will point out that this is NOT exactly what you will get unless you special order the "quad stitching" (is that the right term)? The boot I recieved has just TWO seams, in the middle of the "front" and "back". I kept seeing pictures like the one above and assumed that's what I would get. It wasn't.

My shift boot has 4 cuts around the bottom, below the stitching. I assume this is to facilitate insertion of the metal ring?

The 95-99 boots have only front and back stitches. It's a 2-panel design. We can add extra stitches on the sides and if asked, we do it for free.

What that pictures show is a regular, double stitching, on a 4-panel boot (it's a Corrado for those who care to know). Quadruple stitching is 4 rows next to each other.

The slits in the bottom fold are indeed for inserting the metal ring.

the 4th gen boot is "exactly" the same as the stock boot in design. If you want changes/add-ons to the boot then you can always ask.

The boot shown in RedlineGoods post is not for a Maxima. The Maxima boot does not look like the one in the picture.

This is a standard Redline boot in black leather with titanium stitching. The offset color stitching sounded like a good idea but be forewarned, any booboos in the stitching will stand out like the proverbial sore thumb.

I'd be interested in finding out about the specific differences between our boot and the stock one. Other than ours is better made (double stitching) and from better materials. Shape-wise they are identical.

Booboos in the stiching... For one, they won't stand out at all if you go for black thread. Secondly, and more importantly, if you have any problems with the boot you have received, why not send it back and let us take a look at how we could fix it?

Another discount code for those of you wanting to order is here as well:
