without letting the cat out the bag hers what i can say, my "informant" visits the .org whenever i tell them of something they should look into. right now they are looking at courtsey nissans site and laughing at the prices. what im trying to do is the v/i, rpm switch, canister(oem),cover, solinoid, all nuts and bolts and gaskets, as one package. for a little less than a groupdeal price. i dont have the total pricing yet so dont ask. but this deal is in the works and its gonna take a little time. my "informant" also has ordered me a set of black cefiros which should be here in a week or so. So with that said pray all the stars line up and we can get this going.

junkyard hunting sux plus its time and labor i'd rather pay a little more for a lot less hassle

I'd be in as long as its got the install kit, and THE COVER! Mevi is an ugly bastard without the cover

I'd be in if we can get a package deal (as in all parts needed). I'll be ready to go in a month or so ($$$ wise). If its a go count me in.

have you notice, that any of us care much about what the MEVI will do to the car (give more end power and lose some low end power) that with out a ECU upgrade.

But just becasue it is a MEVI (and it doesn't come around very often) we all desperately want to have it.

just my .02

BTW I still want to be in this GD, don't mind my last comment

yes you can put it on a 99. as far as performance the ecu upgrade will give a better a/f ratio and take out the rev limiter i think. but without it it allows you to continue to pull to redline without losing power. its a good mod either way you look at it.

Well think about this, Nissan put VI's on Gen. 5's and they have a lot more top end power. As far as Gen. 4's go I have seen a Dyno that gave 45 more fwhp at 7000 rpm but peak difference is only maybe 6-10 fwhp. I think I remember the average gain was like 6-8 fwhp up to 5000. So it really depends on what your looking for in the mod. You will definatly notice the top end power as when the car hits 5500 it will no longer lose power but keep a steady gain. Also, you can pay more then the cost of a MEVI for the cattman headers and be lucky to see a gain at all.

i agree with ni_nos, include the shipping in the price. it is more psycologicly appealing to hear one price as opposed to hearing X amount of dollars PLUS X amount for shipping.

well an up date, though a small one. im still intouch with my contacts on acessing all the needed components for the mevi. meaning im trynig to be very specfic on the parts and accesories that will go with the kit. like the actuator it will not be junk yard quality but the actual nissan part, as well as the oem vac-canister im trying to get oem on that too. and as you know oem stuff aint that cheap so im trying to get this cost effective for the finacially challanged . and make it look very stock. so ill post more when i can give some info.

The MEVI and the 5th gen intake AREN'T THE SAME thing. Why compare them? The 5th gen manifold is a dual runner(I believe) setup where the MEVI is not.

I think we should have the install kit as a separate item for those who don't wanna spend the extra money for the nissan symbol

i think he is saying he doesnt want to pay extra for all the other pieces if they are nissan OEM, he would rather go get his stuff on his own. i feel the same way there should be a MEVI bare-bones which is just the MEVI gaskets and all the minimum stuff for instalation. and then the full package which includes all the other stuff needed like vacum canisters and switches and all that stuff. Tort if i am way off then let me know but this is how i feel anyway. its better to offer people a choice than to tell them this is the deal like it or leave it. Thank for setting this up for us and i hope t see it go through in a couple weeks. Lets make this the biggest MEVI GD ever!!!!!

That's exactly what I was trying to say. By Nissan symbol I meant OEM parts such as Vacuum Canister, Check Valve, etc...

whats the difference if the canister has a generic name vs. "Nissan" if its going to drive up costs I don't really think its worth it

ahh i see. well the good thing about the oem stuff is if it breaks its covered. but i also see your point on not having the extra stuff. the best choice for that is to go with whats avalible right noe. meaning courtsey nissan. but like i said im trying very hard to make the "whole" kit cost effective for all. but keep in mind this is not a easy deal to set up as most of you know. if it looks like it wont happen i will not hesitate to notify you all. so please dont hold off on getting a mevi by other means if you want one right now. i would hate to have you miss out on one if you have the chance to get it. hope i made sense.

I have no problem waiting, I might even get the install kit if it were an option, but my point was that it should be an option if its going to drive the cost up much more then getting the parts yourself.

Either way an install kit will run you guys in the $200 neighborhood. I thought it was less but some MEVI owners said that it was around that much.
