hey, 98maxblackwind if you get this deal under $450 the I'm willing to send you $10 as a thank you gift, and if 20 of us decide to give you this same gift then you have about $200 off of your MEVI, so what do you say?
Does this sound good?

If I order one online from courtesy, how hard is it to locate the install parts? Just in case this deal doesn't go through.

I also saw the MEVI on Courtesy's website for -379 but what about the install kit to fit it on to OUR 4th gen's? It is to my understanding that some modification is required for proper fitment and usage. What exactly is involved in this "install kit"?

Then what is this "install kit" that everyone is talking about? I spoke to someone at courtesy's parts dep't and he even said that there is some modification required, but then again he sounded about as sharp as a bowling ball.

In terms of, there is no cutting? It does bolt right on as long as you have the instal kit that courtesy doesn't sell. And tips on where to get that, good luck.

Thats what I'm gettin at...the install kit that they don't sell. What does it consist of? Can we buy parts here/there to make it ourselves?

Nah, give me a break on this covered by warranty on eom stuff. Our 95-99 Max are probably out of manufacturer warranty already by all the modes most of us do to our cars. PLus installing a Mevi would be a no no on manufactures services any hoo. Put me down for the aftermarket kits, and Mevi please.

Not to ***** up this thread but there was too much of these questions. I got this from a good friend that works at nissan: this is the complete list!

14722-38u02
egr tube gasket
22372-v6700
vacuum canister
14958-27m00
vacuum switch
14958-v6700
check valve
23785-ad100
IAC gasket
16175-31u01
TB gasket
14032-38u00
intake manifold gasket

all parts above you can get at nissan not to sure how much they are but it should be somewhere around 150-180. You will also need a rpm switch you can get that at summitracing.com the part number for that is sum-830449. thats cost like $50.

All the cover does is makes the temps hotter. The cover is some POS plastic that keeps the heat around the intake instead of getting the heat away. Also now you need a $200 install kit anyway.

This whole install kit cracks me up. Assuming Courtesy provides the rubber intake manifold gasket, you'll need:

1) NAPA vacuum canister with built in check valve $11
2) couple feet of vacuum line $3
3) Summit Racing RPM switch $45
4) MAP/Baro (aka vacuum switch) $5 from a junkyard, they're found on nearly every late model car.
5) throttle body, EGR, and IAC gaskets $25
6) wire and an inline fuse $3
7) a vacuum "T" to pull vacuum from the fuel regulator vacuum hose

Overall, the "install kit" should run you no more than $100. Lots of guys have reused their throttle body and IAC gaskets. The EGR gasket must replaced though because it becomes brittle from the exhaust heat routed through the EGR piping.

An ECU with at least a 7000rpm limiter is mandatory if you want to be quicker and faster thru the 1/4 mile with the MEVI. 0-70mph acceleration in slower with just the MEVI, but 70+mph acceleration is better. In the 1/4 mile, you'll be no quicker or slower with the MEVI. Add the JWT ECU and you'll drop ~.3 and gain ~3mph.

Installing the kit requires no special tools or any fabrication work is needed. The kit simply bolts on. If you've installed a y-pipe, you can install an MEVI.

This is the next performance mod I am doing to my Max, so keep me posted on things. I can wait if it can save me a few bucks. I will just do other stuff to her until we see if this is going to go through. If it does, count me in.

Mevi Clarification

Clarification needed here. If you have the MEVI installed without any sort of ECU upgrade/remap or, for sake of argument no other mods at all, and you have your RPM switch tuned to 5000 rpm +/-, why would you experience a slower 0-70 time?

Aren't the extra parts pretty cheap anyway? I think the most expensive thing is the Vacuum canister.
