I don't see a reason why you should weld anything when installing the cat. I can hardly imagine what you could weld. I believe it's all bolt on.

 

Tell that to the idiots that put my present exhaust on. The welded the high flow cat to my Cattman S/S y-pipe!!

 

some hi flow cats don't have flanges with the bolt holes, so u have to either weld on flanges or permanently weld the cat to your exhaust system

Don't call them before Monday! I paid on PayPal and called to find out some info from Warpspeed.

1) As of 2:00pm EST on 4/8/04 over 20 people had paid through PayPal.
2) They said that heat wrapping tape on the pipe is not advised because it voids any warranty WSP puts on the pipe.
3) The pipes will be going out next week, either Tuesday or Wednesday on a first pay, first ship basis.
4) If you are calling it'd better be to pay over the phone because they can't handle 50 more people calling with inquires (which may delay your shipment if you contact them). If you have questions, e-mail Warpspeed or post the Q here.

Well, lets say everyone else paid, but the person in slot 2, so WSP has like 40 or 50 payments, but only the person in slot 1 gets their pipes because everyone else is still waiting for Slot 2 to pay. What if it takes Slot 2 a week and a half to pay, it's unfair to the rest of the people to wait just because the 2nd person in line is gonna take forever to pay, even though EVERYONE ELSE already paid. It makes more sense to do a first paid, first ship order. Our list, they received the orders, but they're not receiving the payments in that order though. IF everyone paid in the EXACT same order when they put their name on the list, then there wouldn't be a problem to ship out in that order. Money Talks, talking doesn't.

This is a direct bolt-on correct? No extra hardware needed? I know this question has probably been asked a zillion times, but I'm lazy. This will be the first time I mess with my exhaust, and I don't want to have any problems.

I have already read that you should soak the bolts with WD-40 and let it sit overnight, so you won't end up with bloody hands. And, a universal socket extension is needed for one of the bolts on the Y at the headers. All this sound correct?

I might just wait until I get my catback and just do replace it all at one time. But, I might have to jump the gun and put it on when it gets here.

Oh BTW, has anyone heard soundclips (or in person) of the Frankencar catback? If it doesn't sound ricey, I might go with that. My Plan B is Apexi WS.

I'd say around $60. Not much to do there if the shop has all the right tools. Only problem you could have is the rusted bolts. It'd be a good idea to change them when changing the pipe and/or cat


All gaskets are included.

 

sounds about right for the install. Not sure about the extension and the bolt since I haven't seen them yet. And yes, it'd be a good idea to install everything togeter IMO. Although it'll take a little more time.

Frankencar catback - I got one, but it's for 2000. Anyway, it doesn't sound ricey at all. Paired with Berk K&N intake, it gives you something close to what 350Z's and g35c's sound like. A little deeper maybe. Not loud at all.
