I got in on the last Y-pipe deal, and since i was one of the last people to recieve theirs, i just had it installed this weekend.

first of all, i got it installed at maxximum tuning in NY, so all you people in NY/NJ should check them out....they only charge $60 and my bolts were rusted to ****.

the main reason i wanted to post here was to tell all of you people here that are wondering if this deal is worth it or not: you bet your **** it is. For everyone who has an intake: Ever notice when you're on the highway and you romp on the gas there's like a a second or two "lag" before you really start accelerating? well, that's gone now.

I'll be honest with you guys: from idle to 3500 rpms, you won't notice a difference. From like 4krpms and up, watch out. This pipe rocks. This deal rocks. Budha and warpspeed rock. Sorry, i'm giddy from being out all night enjoying my car. later.

Hey guys, would this be a good time to invest in a nice short throw shifter? I heard you have to take off the y-pipe to hook it up and while im down there i might as well change the damn thing. Im tired of rowing that boat all day.

Im number seven on the list now, i dont know if you care but i want to change my sticker color to Silver. Silver stickers are .25 more HP than the white sticker (.50HP). I know, i know i told you guys i couldnt handle a red or yellow sticker cause of the frightening HP gains, but damn once you get a taste of RAW POWER its hard to live without it. I think i may be ready for a silver sticker guys. Im ready to hang with the big boys.

Oh yeah, and i live in cali and im kinda interesed in this whole MCC thing. The MCC stickers are silver, so just a little preserverance i guess. 2 silver stickers on my ride = 1.5HP.

Hell Yeah.

 

Oh yeah and if you get a whole windshield banner, thats like times 4 of whatever color you pick.

Imagine this, a Bright Yellow "Powered by VTEC" followed by japanese characters blazing across the windshield of your Maxima... Thats gotta be at least, 15-20 Raw Ponies. Oh Yeah. To the Wheels bro, To the Wheels...

If Warpspeed ever got wind of this phenomenom, they'd probably never have to make another y-pipe again...

anyway, yea, I think it could be good time to put in a STS too. Thing is, plan it before you do it. since you'll have to jack the car to take off the old pipe and then to change the sifter you'll need to work inside the car too.

btw, i think the sfiter is located over the resonator pipe, not the y-pipe

I called my local NISSAN dealer today and asked them if my car (99 SEL) was a 99.5 and the guy said that only Pathfinders were made in the 99.5 year. He even put me on hold and asked around the shop. Unfortunately, you really cant be sure (especially with this particular dealership) THEY SUCK! So I dont really know for sure either. Hope this helps. It left me more confused!

as i said to zack: When i ordered mine, i told her it was a 99, even though technically SE-Ls are 99.5s. It doesen't matter anyway, because the 99 y-pipe is the same for 99-01.

Also, that will explain why you have an extra hanger left over. It's for the 5th gens.
