how in the world is an H3 bulb going to create enough light for the main headlight? unless it's a different wattage than the stock fogs, there's no way that's enough illumination.

I too want a pair in black, but I have the same concerns as serin and scopium. I want to be sure that they are bright enough before I commit!

It's adub_pearlmax maxima. It dosn't look too bright. If/when I get these I am getting them for the housing. I'm going to replace the projectors with HID ones.

Count me out, just bought them on eBay (couldn't wait).
As for the brightness, the bulb that comes with these is as good as stock (if not worse). Need to upgrade the bulb for better illumination. PIAA super plasma is my choice.

thanks for the pic hkmax. but it's kinda hard to tell from that angle. the camera's adjusting for the direct reflection coming off the hi beams, so the projectors, with their focused beam, will appear disproportionately dim. having said that just to be fair, i'd like to see a pic of the beam pattern on the road with no hi beams.
personally, i really like this design, but it does me no good to buy them if i can't use 'em. boggles my mind why they couldn't simply use an 9005/9006 combo instead

As I mentioned, that is not my car. It's adub_pearlmax's car. You should talk to him about other pics. He is not too frequent on the board tho it seems.

Guys, the light it puts out is actually pretty good. Drive at night with these and can see fine, if not better than I could before. Trust me, you will not be disappointed in buying these, I have gotten tons of compliments on these. Hooked up the Angle Eyes to turn on/off, looks sweet!!! Will post pics this weekend. Any more questions, just leave here. Im on here like all the time, just done check GD that much.

thanks adub_pearlmax. looking forward to the pics, cuz i want in on this too...

and when you say it compares well to stock, you mean the 2k-2k1 halogens right? not the 2k2 hids?

as an aside, anyone know if an H1 bulb will fit in an H3 housing? also, what's the deal with halogen vs. hid projectors? doesn't the projector take whatever light is shining foward (regardless of angle) and focus it? i wasn't aware that hids and halogens required different projector lenses.

and for all of you looking to replace the included housings with hid specific ones, wouldn't it be less expensive (and easier) to simply buy a H3 hid conversion kit rather than:

1, buy the hid specific projector housing
2, buy the actual hid kit - unless it's included
3, bake open your new goody
4, retrofit the hid specific to the included projector.

i'm learning this as i go along, so feel free to set me straight. it just seems like some of you guys might end up wasting some effort.

Count me in for a Black pair with ion Blue projector.

I pretty much have the same concerns as most. Brightness, what if any, rewiring needs to be done. Cost of HID conversion.

If you bought the right projectors and bulbs, (most likely already have the ballasts and wires/harness), I could get someone to probably retro them in for $75 each light. He does awesome work.

SWA GD on the projector headlights: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....9&page=1&pp=30

it looks pretty dead... mainly because a lot of people ended up purchasing it because they could not wait to get at least 10 for the GD to go through.
