yes, two others, and they had 4th gens as well. Those 4" MAF's that I see going around are a universal application that happen to fit the Nissan MAF. It should work just fine though.

hey cobymoby, can you tell me the major difference between the apexi and K&N.. I have a apexi on my frankencar, and I need to change it soon. Also how long does a filter last anyways since we cant clean the apexi filters?

 

The major difference is the type of filtering media they use. They are completely different. The Apexi uses a dry cotton media, K&N uses oiled cotton. The Apexi filters and flows better but does cost a lot more and is not reusable.

The Apexi should last around 30K miles before you have to change it.

Most of the open top filters that you see are cheap china air filters. They are not even cotton, most are just a layer of foam that is dyed red to look like the filter oil that the other real manufactures use (K&N S&B etc).

Beware with those cheapie air filters, they do not filter well and will break apart in a year or so. I've even seen the inverted cones break apart and get sucked into engine bays and even worse, ruin the compressor blades of a turbo.

What is the size of that S&B filter? I currently have an Apexi filter and its time to change it and I want a little bigger filter.

 

the s&b is smaller than the apexi filter.....

but from the pictures i've seen, the k&n is smaller than the s&b

 

They are all about the same size. The Apexi filter is slightly smaller than the S&B. The K&N is bigger than all of them but has about the same filtering area as the S&B.

 

really..... the apexi to me is mad big... haha
