NP mingo. Thanks for keeping the deal going. I don't mind updating the thread, you're doing enough just by keeping it alive.

BTW have you thought about swapping in an 01 ECU, it should work fine.

I would love to get in on this, but no one knows for sure if this scan tool will work with a '95
I read everwhere that the '95's use OBDII, but a non-compliant connector.
Does anyone know this for sure?

hrmmm... maybe. i'm currently in the process of doing a manual swap so i will be needing an ECU but then i seem to have no luck with 2k1, i can barely find manual 2k's as is. but that is definately a good idea though, i'll look further into that then.

I checked www.car-part.com and found 8 listed for the 2001 M/T w/17" wheels. Average price is $150.00

Getting it reprogrammed and installed should be another $80-125 or so.

Anyone know of any other good OBD-II scanners and software that would work with a 2k Max?

Come on all we need is one more. Take a look at their web site if you have any questions.

I can't believe people aren't jumping on this.

I won't be able to update this if we get any more takers till Friday night.

Don't know. I guess if we have 5 people it'd still be on. Mingo has info and contact. We need to verify the head count to continue.

Alright...Adam and the rest of you, you can count me in for the Palm based model. I have a Dell Axim Pocket PC, but I am not entirely impressed with it, so I'll get a Palm unit instead...

In other words, count me in!

The timer is up on editing post 57.

We're set at 5. I don't know when the 3 day timer starts or if it has already, so anyone else that wants in better make up their mind quickly!

Mingo should I contact Auto Enginuity and get the payment info together or are you still willing to handle that end of it?

Does anybody know how this program works? For example, many programs can be installed on more than one computer (so you could all go in on one copy and send it around). Just a thought.

That's called theft

Now, do you want in, or are you just out to rip people/companies off?

Im tempted, im new to this so Im not sure hwo I would really beenfit from this...is this program way better than just pulling codes for teh ecu? My car is running like crap, and all I get is the KS code, but its not my KS, will this tool tell me every single thing that is bad in my car? SOrry if the questions are stupid, just wanted to know for myself.

oh yeah, while reading the website on the info of the product, it says 1996 and new newer passenger vehicles, whether it be domestic, Asian, or European... does this mean that my 1995 is not compatible?

1996 is the year that the EPA required all makes to be OBDII compliant. I don't know if the 95 MAx was OBDII or OBDI. If you email tem using te link in post 27 you'll get an answer fairly quick.

you can already read engine codes from your ecu, not like the 5th gens with OBD-II

AUTOENGINUITY ANNOUNCES SCANTOOL VERSION 2.2

MESA, Ariz. – May 13th, 2004 – AutoEnginuity, a leading OBD-II diagnostic scan tool provider, announces the release of ScanTool version 2.2.

Version 2.2 now introduces full Mode 6 support and integrates the GM and Ford enhanced interfaces. These optional expansions are now only an activation code away from being available to the diagnosing consumer.

With all of the power in the latest version, AutoEnginuity also offers a new found freedom with Bluetooth wireless solutions. The Bluetooth solutions remove the serial cable leash. Now the diagnosing consumer can operate around the vehicle instead of being tethered to it—without sacrificing data throughput rates.

Version 2.2 is available on the PC, Windows Mobile (formerly Pocket PC), and Palm platforms. AutoEnginuity’s OBD-II connector offers all four electrical interfaces (CAN support optional) in a single compact connector. ScanTool supports all five OBD-II protocols (PWM, VPW, ISO, KWP2000, and CAN).

Hi Adam. Was checking my email and thought I might answer this.

Unfortunate that Nissan didn't do well with their MY 2000 vehicles. Anyway,
we'll honor a group buy for full retails at 169.95 at five purchasers. Some
good news for those on the fence. We are in the running for Motors 20 Top
Tools of the Year. We recently were reviewed in Pen Computing and used in
the 101 BMW 3-series Projects book. (All this in the last two months.)

Subject: Group buy setup on Maxima.org

Hello Jay,

My name is Adam, you responded to an email I sent you with a question about
you scanner.
Unfortunately the person that set up this group buy (screen name "mingo")
has a 2000 Maxima and isn't able to use your poduct. We now have 5 confimed
people ready to buy with a few more unconfimed. It doesn't look to likely
that we'll each 10 and at this time I'm taking over as the contact person.

Could you foward me the info needed to complete the purchase as the people
that are in are ready to buy.

Thanks,
Adam

I emailed him again about how we're to pay.
Payment info to follow...

How do I know if my vehicle is OBDII compliant?

If your passenger vehicle was manufactured for sale in the U.S., with the model year of 1996 and newer (and rarely some 1995 vehicles), you have the OBDII interface. You can check in the engine copartment for an emissions sticker that will verify your vehicle's compliance.

Not at all.

I'm also going to ask him if they plan on expanding their extended options beyond domestic makes. I'm also going to get the CAN option so I can read 350z/G35's.

To order group buys we would prefer each person did call individually with a
two-day window of opportunity. They must use the code "Maxima.org" and we'll
take it from there. Please, please, remind them that at the close of the 2nd
business day it is done. Far too many people straggle in days later and we
won't do it.

Hi Jay,

How would you like us to order? Should each person order off your web site,
and if so do we need to reference anything during the ordering process?

Thanks for the info I'll post it for others to see.

Regards,
Adam

So there you go. The clock is ticking. As long as 5 of us place an order by 5pm pst on Wednesday 6/2/04 the price is $169.95 If you're not on the list above then post here before buying so we can get a soild head count. I plan to place my order on Tuesday 6/1/04 unless we're 1 short of 10, then I'll wait till the 2nd. If we get 10 buy then I'll email Jay again and let him know. The price will then drop $10.
