So those of us with 5th gen Maximas (00-03) can't get anything but the red needles?

I usually see them on ebay for about 75-105, so you're not really getting a deal here..

Whoa, hey....let's not bash the vendor like that. He's offering a product and if you don't like the price, PM him about it. No one's making you buy it. Also, "so you're not really getting a deal here" is totally uncalled for.

Is there anyway you can add the white face overlays and bulbs to this deal?

You can make any color work on the newer maxes with the red tinted needles. But it involves taking the needles off and sanding the red tint off. I've seen it done before...but its a lot of trouble.

Dang that sucks, those blue needles would go really well on mine. If the company ever makes them with a blue tint instead of red for a 2k3, then gimme a pm.

^they do make them in a blue tint. the problem is your needles are orange. what do you think blue lights behing orange will look like? CRAP, thats what. the only way you can get them to shine through blue is to scrap the orange off the back of your needles. You dont have to take them off, i just put small grit sand paper behind them and gently sanded it off..........

what exactly is the kit? is it a film to put over the needles, new lights to light the needles, or what?

Sorry I hadn't replyed, computer has been acting up. You can not use anything except the Red kit on the 98 + Maxima. The needles are tinted red all the way through so to sand the red off you would have to sand the needle away to nothing. So if you want to try it please remember that I said it would not work, I won't be responsiable for some crazy ugly color that is not blue.

As for the lower price, if you find it go for it, but be aware that there are alot of knock off kits on eBay that are alot cheaper for a reason. I sell these on eBay all day long for $79-$84 a set shipped. And I sell them on my site for $72+$7 shipping. So I would say that $71 shipped is a great deal considering there is not much markup on these kits.

THT thanks for stickin up. If anyone wants to add gauge overlays to the needle kit, for white $21, or $24 shipped by themselves. We also have many other colors and can do any kind of custom design.

The picture that image posted is of the kit I am selling. There are a couple of other pictures on the site www.importcarpartsplus.com/Needles.htm and before anyone asks the last two pictures are using reverse indigo gauges.

If I missed anything let me know.

THIS IS SAD!!!

you guys say your real maxima fans...please....

if you want the blue kit for the 5gens.... go to the junk yard find a 240sx(THEY HAVE CLEAR NEEDELS) buy the blue kit for the 240sx and put it in your max!!
this does require you to take you needels off! be very carful with the thin wires you get, the break easly if you are not carful...take your time with it and you will be fine!!

jeeeez guys...how many newbies are on the site!!

use your heads!!! lol

im pretty sure that i am(was...lol) the only 5gens with blue needels that glow!!
if you want pics or any questions answered please ask....it took me 4 times and 3 kits to get it right...my cluster in the end was worth like $400...lol

go to my homepage for pics!!!

later guys!!

Thanks for the info import. That's what I wanted to hear, not some ******* calling me stupid for asking a simple question of whether or not they came in blue for the 5th gen.

Guys, be aware of one thing...

The gauge overlays that Justin is selling for 5th gens, WILL NOT WORK FOR ALL MAXIMAS.

The font used for the the 3 trims of Maxima are not the same. The SE font is different from the font that Justin's using in his overlays, so if you install them on an SE, they'll look like crap - trust me, I tried - Justin was kind enough to mail me a 2nd set of overlays, but they didn't work either.

Here's the pic from Justin's sight:

And here's a pic of my cluster - if you look REAL close, you can see that the font is different

Look at the number 6, in the 160, you can see that the SE font is more square, as well as slanted a bit, the other cluster is more round.

Anyone thinking of getting these should make sure that your cluster matches the pics on Justin's sight.

I'm not trying to ***** your thread, Justin, but I don't want my fellow org'ers to be disappointed if the overlays don't work.

Once you have the pattern for the SE cluster though, let me know, I'll trade you back the 2nd set of overlays you sent me for them!

If i mail you back the ones you sent me, can you send me the set for the SE?

If i get this kit, is there going to be an glow around the gauge ring like the others? I just want the needles to glow.

Go ahead and send them back with a note and we will get the new set out to you.

Depends on the gauge faces, some will have the glow around the edge if there is something there for the light to reflect off.

No those are not the clear gauges or a Maxima. Those are reverse indiglo gauges with the needle kit on a Honda.

We can get them installed and shipped back to you for $50.

Thanks

I purchased a set of these needle lights from this company and they are very cool! The company and the shipping and everything went very smooth with them. I highly recommend this company!

I have a 1996 I30. I put the indiglo white faces guages in with the blue needle lights and it is awsome.

WARNING: I almost Messed up my guage cluster so hard core by pulling the needles out to install these lights. DO NOT PULL OUT THE NEEDLES!!! It was my first time doing any mod on my car and LUCKILY, i was able to get them back in without much of a problem or LONGTERM damage, but I know I was sooo lucky.

These really are cool lights!!! Get some!!

So if I send you the gauge cluster, will you guys do the necessary shaving of the original needles (if a 96 needs it)? Do you know which years need the needles shaved? My needles are white. And if I get in on this deal, could you guys hold the needles at the shop until I send you the cluster? It might be a few weeks depending on when I find a used one.

Just give me a call when you are ready, you will still get these prices.

If they are white you won't have to shave or can only do the top if you like.
