The only part of the install that I'm worried about is the power steering belt. 2000's have a 14mm bolt on the inside that you have to get to with a universal joint. I know but I can't see it or feel it whenever I'm under there. Anyone with experience? I read all the install instructions but they don't go into detail on the 2000 model.

other than imxelite, everyone else is a good distance from OH. Some ppl in your areas may have recieved theirs already. It is on the Post office, not Brett. He sent them when I said he would. You cant be pissed at him for the slow azz postal system. you can be mad that you didn't request express service at an extra charge, but for shipping included, what do you expect. i would send it the cheapest way too, and i am sure you would too. Lay off of Brett and b1tch at me for estimating shipping times wrong. I was like you in the begining before i talked to the post master at our PO...he explained to me that a package shipped from the same location could take 2 days at one point and 8 days at another for a package to get to the same destination. It depends on how your package gets sorted. so i am sorry for everyone who scheduled an appointment with out having the part in hand and has to look like a fool. its MY fault.

I want to say thank you to all of you who have been patiently waiting for your pulley. I know it is agonizing to wait for a part you so desperately want. Please hang in there. I appreciate everyones participation in this deal. it has taken longer than we all expected, and now it is in the hands of the Post Office, not Brett or Me. There are two ppl who pd at the end of this week. Your pulleys should go out on monday or tuesday. please be patient with the Postal System. If you want to express mail them, send Brett some extra cash with the request. I would think $5 would do. It's up to you.

Ok, i havent changed my pulley yet. I have everything i need oil seal and the pulley. My problem is... should we be using the same size as stock belts? Seeing the pulley is smaller wouldnt that make the belt to long?

 

Yes you need new belts.

A/C & Alternator: Gates # K060408
Power Steering: Gates # Ko40292

If for some reason they're too tight just go one step longer (410 and 300). Reading about others' experience it seems that on some UDP's the PS has been the same as stock, only the A/C underdriven. Not sure about this one though. I'm planning on taking some measurements to compare before I go buy the belts just to try to narrow it down. Either that or get a couple belts and return one.

 

I could of used the stock PS belt if I wanted to, but I rather just replace them both.. :shrug:

I got new belts but they are the same size as the stock ones. Will they fit? and where do u get gates belts?

mak, don't laugh, but i didn't even get to that point. The power steering belt steps were enough to make me start throwing things. I got the two 12mm bolts loose, but the 14mm bolt??? (power steering pump rotator bolt????) WTFIT? says you can access it from the precat with a swivel or series of swivels...i have to be an idiot. this is where i got stuck. i could not determine what bolt was being referred to.

as for the 12mm power steering adjuster locking bolt, no matter how i used the swivels, i cant figure out how the person who wrote the how to got the 12mm socket on the bolt. i had to use a long 12mm box end...a rachet style box wrench would help a ton there. pictures would be very very helpful. i took some pics today so i could document the process but not even sure if they will help. i didn't even get to the crank pulley bolt. hell, i didn't even get the belts off! the power steering pump is the biggest issue. from what i can tell, if you can, plan this around an oil change, so you can have the oil filter off...it buys you some room to work. also, get the car as high in the air as possible if you are using a floor jack and jack stands. the extra room is needed. that is my lousy contribution to the how to.
