Ya need to copy the list and add your name to it, like Crabby did in post #309....

Also, belt numbers are listed several pages back.... I think it was post #220+

squeak at startup is mostly due to the belts. you either have a belt that's too loose or your belt assembly isn't within the tolerance level. you might want to get that checked. my belt sqeaked during cold days too. but after a little, it is all good.

These are an aweful lot cheaper than Unorthodox, are they just as good? Do you offer one that is stock diameter but lightened for us supercharger and/or stereo people?

P.s. Saying "UDP Pulley" is redundant. Kinda like "ABS brakes" or "ATM Machine". lol

does using a smaller crank pulley affect your electrical/alternator? i thought it'd only screw up the stereo if you replaced the alt pulley too no?

uhm... that question has been answered repeatedly within this thread. As long as you dont have a 250+ AMP system.. I'm guessin more than 1,000 watts then you're good to go.

Like I said earlier about the sound system thing, I would recommend getting a 1 farad cap if you have a big system(500W-600W or more) or a 1/2 farad cap for smaller systems(500W or less).

notice in my sig i'm selling caps...

i'll do the big 3 later...and i have over 200A of current going so i don't see why it's not an unreasonable question. especially cuz i'm sure i'll get beefier stuff later..

alright,
if you are running 200 amperes of current in your car, your alternater is already overworking the ss**** out of itself. of course, totalling up the ampere reading of all your amplifiers doesn't mean you are running at that current all the time. only at peaking rms power drain is when you'll notice dimming headlights and stuff. also, if you have a capacitor lined up for each amplifier, you'll notice that your power drain is more stable and constant. these capacitors act like reservoir batteries harvesting DC into AC sinuoidal waves to build up a constant 13-14 volts potential right at your amplifiers' demands.

now, for my 4th gen stock alternater supplies like around 110 amperes of recharge. mine failed after i ran 85 amp current supply to my amplifiers. my battery light came on one day and three days later, while i was driving, my car died off in the middle of the road. after that i bought the 125 apm alternator from autozone and solved my problem. i also when ahead and bought rock-fos 1f caps for the amplifiers. that solved the problems completely.
if you are running 200 amperes of stereo supplies, you should notice lots of dimming in the lighting and power loss in other electrical components. you'll need to run a blue top optima battery, and capacitors for each amplifier like i mentioned. this will decrease the load you put on your alternator to recharge. also, running this setup will allow you to run this udp at ease. if you are planning install the udp and run your 200 amp monster stereo system without the capacitors and the optima battery, you'll be changing your alternator and battery pretty often. simply because they are overworking trying to supply you the huge load of power you need. this will lower the voltage reading in your battery contantly. you'll have a hard time operating the car or even to crank it up.

with enough said, the decision is still up to you. i'll have to warn you, with your 200 amp current stereo, this udp will put your car in under-charge situation at lower rpms. your charge will be stable and reach the safe zone at mid and higher rpms. but in reality, you shouldn't even run your car at high rpms all the time. so it's really your call.

stephen max did this big home work long ago, it went into much more details than i can possibly tell you. i'll paste this link down below:

http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/521

nevertheless, you demand 200 amp current in addition to your car's demand for power, you'll have to find ways to supply it. if not, suffer the consequences...

actually the amp is drawing the fuse rating more often than you think. in fact a 30A fuse can handle peaks of up to 200A w/o blowing so...yea

do your headlights dim when the bass hits? if so you may want to get a cap....5 farad would prob be sufficient. i don't think that your single 12 with the 500w amp should tax your charging system too much, but it depends on how you listen to your music...really F'n loud, or just decent level with some good full bass...really f'n loud all the time, you should get the cap, loud every once and a while...you should be fine. as it was mentioned, this will be noticed most at idle. so no beatin so hard the old lady next to you has a problem with her pacemaker! not only will she have issues, your charging system may too.

5 farad still won't do? dude, run two optima batteries for your stereo then. but this is going outta hand, ghetto. i mean, you've got all this monster sound system kickin, these sound components must have weighed down your car big time. if i were you and i have gone that far with the sound setup, i'd might as well go for the "show", not for power. if my car is getting loaded too heavy, i wouldn't bother trying upgrades to run it faster. and if you have dimming problems, i suggest you drop this mod. it'll kill your alty like crazy. don't buy this pulley...

damn..sounds like a problem...before...i m running a 1500watt rockford fosgate amp.. polk momo 10" subs with 4 ga wiring and 1 full cap...this is through my bose system..tapped in the single on rear speaker. I hooked up on 1 channel before....2ohm load to push out 500rms but was only tweaked half way because the subs could only handle 300rms. My air bag light started blinking after install...couple months later..fuses started blowing out..so i put it back to 2 channels pushing with 4ohms and works fine now. Just my air bag light though..=/

just to refresh everyone's memory, this is my post that got this new gd started back on feb 17th...based on the questions and all, i figured it would be good just to pull this forward again. this was the original email from brett at motostorm. the deal is now at $70 shipped based on the amount of ppl interested. payment details will follow once brett receives the new pulleys in. look for the info in the next week or two. we're half way to the projected delivery date. everyone please be patient, and like makavelisk said, good things come to those who wait!

Group price will be about $80 per pulley shipped if you can get 10 individuals together. Just let me know, you guys have 30 days to decide. Thanks

wait so we get 3 times the amount that they required, so we get it for 70 instead of 80? can you see if we can squeeze a lil more out of it?

it's already $20 cheaper than the first gd...that's not to bad. lets see how many ppl are on the list when the parts come in. people are already losing interest and backing out. i hope it doesn't become a trend or we will be hard pressed to find a reputable company that will do GD's anymore. i am waiting for an update from brett on the estimated arrival date that MS should receive them. i will bring everyone up to speed as soon as i hear from him. thanks guys!

I'm debating at this moment, I have 170K+ miles on my ride.... I dont know if this UDP replacement might add more stress to the engine or not. If it relieves engine stress I'd get it for sure.

sure it takes stress away from the engine since it doesn't need to work as hard to rotate the pulley

sure it takes stress away from the engine since it doesn't need to work as hard to rotate the pulley
Not to say you're completely wrong with that statement, but I'd read this White Paper by Dinan (BMW Performance Tuner) about "Power Pullies" (i.e. underdrives). Now this is in relation to an Inline6, and we have a V, which tends to be better balanced, but you still run risks similar to this article with Underdrive Pullies as they have "normally" removed the rubber isolation ring from the pulley which acts as a Harmonic Dampener. I'm not trying to say they're bad, I'm buying one myself, and I have one on my 2002 Dodge Ram, and had on on my '91 Twin Turbo 300ZX... but just wanted you to know the facts before making statements like the one you made above...

Underdrive Pulley "Free" power that is lost due to ROTATIONAL MASS. They work the same way as a a lightented flywheel... they don't MAKE power, they free it... BUT, what an underdrive pulley does that a lightened flywheel does not is remove some harmonic balancing from the rotational assembly (pulley, crank, pistons, rods, flywheel, clutch & pressure plate).
