Shipping the Progress RSB to Northern California from Arizona should be about $17.

the lowdown on outrageous UPS brokerage fees to Canada

USPS will get it to you in 4-10 days for $44, but apparently without any brokerage fees.

UPS will get it to you in 7-8 days for $32, but apparently with a brokerage fee.

I've been wondering about those fees, and so I just did my homework - WHAT A RIP!!!

The UPS brokerage breaks down this way for a swaybar (all amounts in Canadian dollars):

$5.85 - the fee you pay UPS for paying customs, taxes, duties up front
$4.24 - the fee you pay UPS to collect these amounts from you(!)
$27.45 - the actual brokerage fee for goods valued between $100-200
$37.54 - subtotal
$2.63 - 7% of subtotal that they add in

$40.17 - total UPS brokerage charges (and this doesn't include any of the taxes), which converts to roughly US$30, or a total shipping charge of about US$62! I guess shipping via USPS is a no-brainer. You don't get real time tracking with USPS, but you definitely save some bucks.

What an eye-opener, now I know why you guys hate UPS so much!! They didn't use to charge any of this.

In light of this, your best bet is to have the part shipped to a friend in the US if you're near the border, have it installed here, and drive it back home. If that's not practical, we are willing to send it USPS (although we have to take it down to the post office, they won't pick up parcels for us). To heck with UPS in Canada!

Note, however, that the maximum package size we can ship with USPS is a combined length and girth of 108". Fine with sway bars, but that may exclude our exhaust boxes (which means we'd be forced to use UPS).

Using USPS, our cost to ship the Progress RSB anywhere in Canada is $44. Check my other reply in this thread to get the lowdown on the UPS brokerage fees, which will always make USPS cheaper.

How useful for you to bring that to my attention. I won't go through the saga behind why its taken so long, but a completely new website is in the final stages of preparation under a new design team, and should be up within the next week or two. It will feature online ordering and all of our new products. The old one is so miserable, almost impossible to update and full of fatal flaws that there is no point in even trying to update it - all effort is directed at the new one. It will be reasonably impressive when it opens up, and become much moreso over time.

I was charged over $50 to K2P 0H6 (Ottawa).

At least is was via USPS air so apparently this avoids the evil UPS/FedEx fees.

Ditto here. Arrived this afternoon. Took my time and the install took about an hour. Hey I'm old and slow and like to eeek every last ounce of install satisfaction out of each job!

Only one hitch. If the trailing arm bracket is butted upto the hole where the e-brake cable mount tab goes, and you have the bar centered under the beam, you will get at best 5/8" to 3/4" of bar comming through the bushing. The install sheet claims "about 1". Close but not quite. In any event I am sure that the bar is not going to pop out.

Cheers!

I'm a little embarassed, because I quoted a price of $44, but since my ordering service is charging me a "surprise" $6 fee to haul the boxes down to the post office (UPS picks up at the warehouse, USPS does not), the shipping to all locations in Canada, is $50.

Very sorry about being incorrect about the earlier quote. At least its less than the UPS rip-off.

Sorry, but we have to charge US$50 for USPS shipment (anywhere in Canada).

My earlier message in this thread breaks down the UPS shipping brokerage charges, which come to about US$30, PLUS shipping charges of US$30-50 depending on your location in Canada.

I wish it was cheaper, but the USPS price is still at least CDN$16-40 less than what UPS charges.

If you ordered during the morning, it should go out the same day, and you're 2-3 business days away.

Rubber? My good man, you're referring to a part that was developed for Cattman Performance, and we require the best.

The bushings are polyurethane. Enjoy your new part!

Sorry you've had a hard time getting through, the situation you describe seems very unusual and I know the phones aren't too tied up this morning. My ordering service is very good about returning calls, so go ahead and leave a message if necessary. All I can suggest is to try again (800.759.9920) today, especially since its the last day of the Progress RSB sale.

We'll have the new website up (with on-line ordering) later this month, so phone issues will not longer be a problem.

ya know what...the price on the site isnt all that bad...I wish I would have gotten in on it, and I was going to, but my car makes a funny metal on metal screeching noise when I turn right, so I had to save my money for that...I would have loved to get in on this, but he said it was only til July 4...I think its only like $25 more on the website, so no real biggie. I also havent gotten the stupid noise fixed...took it to goodyear (worker there is a neighbor) and they said I need to take to transmission place, so I did...trans place says its wheel bearing and goodyear should have fixed it (havent paid money yet, but its ****ing me off that noone will fix this)...I say just buy from the site...I was gonna put in my plea to get in on the deal, but after rereading the post...you still pay for shipping like you normally would, so you save $25...Im not saying it wasnt a good deal, hell $1 off is better than paying full price...Also arent the prices sposed to go up even more? so you should buy them before it goes up even more...im gonna buy it once my car payment comes out so I wont have to pay an additional $10 (or something like that)

Sorry, the deal is over...

...but as someone noted, the regular price is only $25 more. You might want to grab onto that, because when the new website goes up by the end of the month, the price will be $145 from us (and everyone else).

We've got dozens in stock, ready to ship. Just call 800.759.9920, 8-5MST, M-F.
