the spec stage 1 seemed like a good alternative...and the guys seem real friendly and knowledgeable over at SPEC inc. plus the clamping force seemed pretty good...now I am confused, I don't know what to get!

Exedy is gonna take a week or more. Why do you say the Spec is crap, you can't just say that and not give a reason. We have sold alot of the Spec and you are the first to complain.

ACT doesn't have one. Exedy lists #NSK1002, but it is listed as To Be Anounced. SPEC is the only one I can find for the 3.5L 02+ Altima.
This is the first person to complain about a Spec clutch, and I have sold many for the Maxima, Eclipse, Civic, Mazda and others.

THanks,

I don't have any dealers that carry Clutchnet. Give me a few links to somewhere that sells them and I will see about getting a better price for you.

Thanks

I need a clutch cause my ACT once again failed- pressure plate again. I'm feeln Spec stage 2 or 3.. not too sure yet but I need to get one like by next week as my car is getting harder and harder to get into gear at the stop lights. How much more is the lightened pressure plate deal from Spec ? they list it at 79 dollars on their site. I already have a Fidanza flywheel so a lightened pressure plate would be a nice addition for every little HP. Is the Stage 3 Maxima clutch a 3, 4 or 6 puck design ?

$65 extra for the lightweight clutch option. It will remove rotating mass and help in the same way a lightened crank or flywheel will.

Stage 3 are 6 puck.

I wanted to clearify something with you. The Exedy clutch you have listed on the front page is stage 1 correct? I know you said in another post that it was but just wanted to double check. It comes complete with all the assembly parts etc..? If so, I will be ordering this clutch from you soon. Thanks

Andy

VG and VQ use the same clutch. All 86-01 Maximas have the same clutches. Weird ehh ?

Justin- I wanna get the Stage 2 SPEC, lemme know where I can send the $$$ via PayPal and how soon can I get it, I wanna have the new clutch installed by next weekend and broken in for the next autoX.

Justin, I just send ya $$$ for the Exedy clutch for my 01 Maxima, is it possible to have it shipped to my work address ? I am home late everyday and its almost impossible for me to take delivery of my clutch. Plus I'm doing the clutch at work anyways.

any more reviews on spec stage 2 or 3? hard pedal?

BTW, i have spec 1 and i have had a TO bearing issue, but maybe its cause of install...clutch cant take power at top of rpm with SC...the shift into second has slippage, especially after a few runs, even on a cooler day.

I've had a SPEC Stg 2 in my Infiniti G20 and under 10psi around 260WHP the clutch would start to slip, if I nailed the gas boost would kick in very quickly and clutch wouldn't hold it. I've had bad luck with ACT, SPEC and Clutchmasters- they like to launch springs from the disk and cause nasty drivability or even blow up the disk into millions of pieces. JWT uses Pressure Plate that has been modified, and stock pplate is a Exedy piece. I've ran my JWT cluch for 3 years with no problem even under 300WHP in my old Sentra SE-R. I pondered my thoughts for a few hours and decided with a Exedy.

They don't list them in stages but if they did that would be a stage 1 clutch. It is a full clutch kit.
