alright ya'll. this is a good time for me to clear this thing up:
i have the earlier version of the 95 max. thus, fidanza wouldn't fit my tranny and it's proven.
for the last 4 weeks, my car was sitting in the shop with the opened tranny box. first i ordered the fidanza flywheel from evolution autodesigns from their consistent advertisement in the org. boy i'd tell you. their service was great. if you are ordering from them, get victor. that guy is cool. anyway, i ordered the fidanza flywheel that "listed" to work with the 95 tranny. it arrives and we compared the piece to stock. and it's true, stock flywheel has nine holes to be screwed onto the ring gear, but fidanza only has 8. this is a cruel conclusion for my part because then i had to order from elsewhere and wait more.
yup, i ordered from stillen who was on back order of the shipment. i also further explained the fitment situation to stillen. they are vehicle specific speciallists who make sure you get the right piece. i had to give them my vin number and production date.
stillen send me a flywheel that has nine holes on it, and it also fit on the ring gear
perfectly. also, this 5 lb's deal isn't so true. the flywheel i received is actually 7 lb's. putting this on the ring gear, it actually becomes about 13 lbs. stock was about a little more than 20 lb's. so weight loss isn't that big a deal in my case.
if you want to know more about stillen flywheel, i just posted my installation results in another thread. here is the link:

corrections are also welcome.
if you got further installation questions, you can pm me also.

04/94 is mine. i specifically told stillen about that. they knew exactly what to do with mine. sent in the right piece, installed in shop yesterday with the SPEC stage 2 kevlars. Works great now. I ran on interstates with very noticeable high end gains, but a RSX type-S smoked me pretty bad. I bet if we go from stop, that car wouldn't stand a chance against me. Unless he's got some Power mods on that car.
trust me, you and I are in the same boat. You cannot go with fidanza, nor Spec Flywheels. Their flywheels only work with the later model 95's.
Your left with STillen @410 bucks, or Unorthodox @around 500 bucks
Your left with STillen @410 bucks, or Unorthodox @around 500 bucks
i have obd I, and the separation line for the flywheel is at 02/95- and 03/95+. Now it turns out that OBD I and II are not determined by the set production dates. I am confused with this OBD options for our max. but as far as the flywheels go, my dates are right. And I can assure you right now, that you'll have two options:
1) pay the 410 bucks and get one from stillen.(this is the ideal way)
2)get the fidanza flywheel and find a 96 ring gear in junkyard (good luck with that)
my car went into the shop and waited a week for the fidanza to arrive. after we opened up the tranny and try to put it on, we found out that there is one extra hole needed. then i have to clean it and return that puppy and get a refund. i was even luckier that they didn't charge me a re-stocking fee, but i wasn't re-embursed for the shipping.
then i ordered from stillen and gave them my production date and all, they had my stuff on back order, and the whole time these returning and re ordering, my tranny just sat in the shop with the open tranny for two more weeks. then we get the stillen flywheel and installed it, and it fits just fine. got all nine holes.
So if you are still thinking about getting the fidanza because of that fraction of the pay, and end up sending it back and waste shipping, then go for it. but I done told you about this. do it the right the first time or just don't even do it.
also, since you are doing your flywheel, you might as well get a clutch kit. pay the price of one tranny job and do the two mods than pay two tranny jobs on both mods.

dss42,
that 143991 flywheel doesn't fit all 95 maxima's. we have discussed this issue in the same thread. why do you keep presenting the wrong listing to the orger? Fidanza specialists even claimed that they do not guarantee fitment on the 95 models that's why they list 96-01 with that part number 143991. And yes, some 95's work with that flywheel, but it's not a guaranteed fitment piece. You shouldn't push your sales like this. That's wrong to do business in this style.

cool, i see that you are selling them as if they all fit. but what if a guy with a early 95 bought the flywheel and take it to the shop. Then the shop opened up the tranny box and realize that flywheel doesn't fit. Well, you are going to fully refund without restocking fees, but they are also paying for a tranny job half way not getting anything done. From your end of the deal, everything looks legit, but on the consumers' end, for your information, isn't it unfair that they had to risk this extra labor fee paid for tranny job? Even after they found that the flywheel doesn't fit, they had to take extra steps sending it back to you and either put back the tranny with the original flywheel (not a good deal, because they basically paid the tranny labor for nothing done) or they had to leave car not running for extra few weeks to order a flywheel elsewhere. Now, I am not trying to rag you out of selling flywheels in here, but my emphasis is that you should make sure of the models of the cars before you sell anymore 95's flywheels.
