How did he make them? You have a link that explains better (particularly what material)?

Yep and they're paper thin. My dad had a sheet of 1/8" gasket material from the part store. Not sure of the fancy name for it. Its pretty tough to cut and seems a lot more durable than what Nissan uses, and costs a lot less to.

Hey UrbanImport, will you have another deal after the 30th? Even if I order these now, I won't install them until spring time. If you have another deal before spring time, I'll order then. If not, I will have to order a set now.

Check out skilberti's cardomain page. He has a picture of the gasket he made. It's pretty easy to make. Just get some gasket material at any car parts store or even hardware store. Use the existing (old) gasket as a template and cut with a box knife or scissors to fit. IT doesn't have to be perfect because it won't show.

Thesse thing are awesome!!!! I just finished installing these yesterday and later that night took a drive out for about 1 hour car handles great but I seem to be getting some really bad noises from the front left coilover, mostly when I turn. Anybody figured out how to keep them quiet?? Sounds like the spring stays in place while turning then all of a sudden the spring rotates. Please help someone!!

1. Make sure the top nut on the spindle is really tight.
2. Really tighten those locking rings. Mine all came loose after driving for awhile.

I get zero noise now.

I've checked everything on mine, all is tight. Even the top spindle nut and all of the other mounting bolts. The rubber pads on top and bottom of coil are in place and not torn. I think either the pillowball upper mount or strut is bad. All of the coilovers are quiet except for the front right side and it continues to get louder and louder. You don't even have to hit a bump for it to make noise. The pre load is the same as the left front so I don't know what else to do with it, except warranty it out for another.

That sucks!! I dont really want to warranty it out. But If I have no choice I guess thats the only way.. Im gonna go out and check the locking rings. What do you need to get them exchanged though the warranty?

For those of you that face winter weather, how do you intend on dealing with the fact that they are only rated and warrantied for use in temperatures above 5 deg C or 41 deg F? I was literally a day away from ordering a while back, when I was informed that these coilovers are cannot be used in temperatures lower than 5 C or 41F. Do you guys plan on changing them out every half year, or do you have some other solution?

Anyone get theirs from the 2nd round order? (9-30-2004)

It has only been 3 weeks I email Urban and get nothing back and calling just gets me an answer that they will be here in a couple days, received that one a couple times.

I was told they were stuck in customs or something, yet Skalibert got a pair in that time frame? I think you have my D2s man!!!

Nothing to do but wait I guess. At this rate I might get to find out I have a bad shock sometime around April.

FYI for others considering this. I just called up and ordered a set from Urban Imports today. They now have these where you can just order them. I should have mine in 3-4 days they said. $900 shipped was today's price. I'm going to be out of town for two weeks so I won't have them on my car until the week of November 14th. I was really prepared to pay $1600+ for the JICs until I found these. I can't wait!

That's my plan. Springs and struts for winter and D2s for spring/summer/fall
