The bulb was not centered so it was sitting too close to the side. The heat (I did the rewire, so its running hotter I think) melted the plastic.
H4 bulbs only come with the clear cefiro's.

You will have to replace your bulbs, the H4 bulb is a totally different type of bulb design, that uses a different socket from the stock maxima 9004 bulb.

 

Are they expensive? Can I get the H4 bulbs at Autozone? Will they last as long as the Silverstars?

 

Normal H4 bulbs should not be that expensive, how long they last depends on the brand of bulb, I guess.

 

so i don't need h4 bulbs for the smoked cefiros?

All Cefiro headlights need H4 bulbs. Some generic ones happen to come with the clear ones from Nissan. The aftermarket ones do not have bulbs included.

H4 bulbs, its your own personal preference. I personally have HID's.
Corner bulbs stay the same. You only need to invest in new H4 bulbs.

 

Got pics with the cefiros with regular h4 bulbs compared to HIDS?

No money to get HIDs.... probably end up gettin something bright that comes in h4... any suggestions?

When you do the swith from the 9004, light to the H4, dou you have to put in a new adapter (plug) with splicing and sautering?

 

paradox is supplying a new harness.. I am assuming it plugs into the old harness and converts to a h4 plug on the new end.. but you might have to splice and solder.. which really isn't a big deal, it's only 3 wires .. hopefully not though

 

The harness provided does need to be spliced in, it is not plug and play unfortunately.

This was just based on some searching on the internet I just did:

The H4 harness should be like this:

GND | ____ | HIGH
LOW

The 9004 harness has 3 wires, one high, one low and one ground. You have the match the wires with the new harness. From what I found, the green/yellow wire is LOW on the drivers side, black/yellow is LOW on passenger side, black/white is GND.
Please verify all this with either a test light or volt meter.

Shipping is the only thing that has changed. I've emptied out my supplier's warehouse on the H4 harnesses. The headlights are ready to ship but don't have any more harnesses. They told me they will have them Thursday. I can drop off at the UPS store Thursday afternoon at the earliest.
