bump, havent heard anything froma nyone, no email no phone call about delivery. hmm im going to try to call custom carbons.

 

Well I just got mine in this afternoon, I would post pics but my digital camera bit the dust and my new one isn't here yet. Anyways, the quality of the hood is superb, the edges are nice and rolled, I couldn't even find mistakes in the mat, resin of clearcoat, it is truely an impresive peice of work.

And for those worried they haven't heard anything, I didn't hear anything from custom carbons, just from this thread so don't expect to much. Overall ship time was about a week, shipped the 27 arrived the 1st. Overall I am very happy with this deal, it took a while, but I understood the lead times asociated with custom made carbon fiber parts, the quality is incredible. So just keep waiting guys it is worth it.

 

i thought i would have mine by now, i live about half an hour from custom carbons.

 

ITS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks great, s little crack on the underside but nothing major, probably from shipping. worth the wait, and you can still smell the resin.

 

Good deal....guess I am next. How was the delivery done? I am going to be at work during delivery hours but I want to check the hood out before the truck leaves incase I have any problems. Did the freight company call you? Thanks for your help.

 

yeah they called, i wasnt home during the first try, then they tried later on the day. DHL shipped, it says on the package to open and check everything, but the guys took off quick. Dont Sign anything until you check. it says so on the package. hope you got room for the cardboard and tons of bubble wrap.

i ordered a hood from ebay from this same seller, and now i got an email from ebay saying their account has been suspended for what ever reason ( the couldnt tell me). they suggested that i didnt pay. i already did tho, sometime last week.

i sent a couple emails to the seller but am getting no response, i need to know if my hood is already sent out, or if they are still planning on honoring my purchase. im scared outta my mind cause i dont want to loose 300 bux.

to whoever has contact with this seller id like to know if i can have a phone number, or a direct email addy so i can makesure everything is still on track as far as my purchase. if not i will have to charge back my creditcard/paypal to get my money. i really dont want to cause i really want this hood but i have to make sure everything is gonna be ok.

magikone69: they are currently trying to finish up thi s group deal why they had a ebay auction for a hood i cannot tell you. only thing i can offer is i will give them a call tomorrow see if i can get a status on your hood. they have not screwed the members in this group deal so i do not think they will start now.

jdmmax makes a good point, dont know why his account was suspended, and I am sad by that cause i was hoping to buy a hood from them soon, but if for some reason you dont hear anything or you dont think you'll get your hood or money back you can file a compaint with paypal (assuming you paid with them) and if they dont get to hear from them, they will take the money from him and pay you, so that can be a last resort.

 

Im sure the reason their account is suspended is due to the slooow shipping and amount of feedback left as the result.
I honestly do not think anyone is getting screwed. They just cant keep up with their obligations.

That is why I kept telling people do not expect your hoods to go out before the GD items.
But you guys kept hoping for the best, and were saying " they have to be shipped right away".....

 

I'm not attacking them but looking at their feedback rating and comment from customers, its not very comforting to just hear from people on the org is one thing, to read feedback from those who have purchased from them is another thing.

well i called and they told me everything is still set to deliver if i want it. they asked if i want a refund and i decided not to. im still gonna go for the hood. they said it will ship nextweek and since im in fl i will prob get it a week + after it ships. he said ill get a tracking number when it ships out. ill be optomistic and stand by. im jus glad that i was able to speak to someone for some relief.

Can you let me know for sure my hood went out this week. Also I have written customcarbons about doing a group buy on trunk lids...they said they would do it, but need at least 5 people. I cannont post a group buy to get interest, but if either you or custom carbons could set that up it would be nice. Thanks.

Maxmojo said he would be doing a group deal soon, but he did not give me a price. Custom Carbons said that they would do one....the mold fee would be 500 and the lids would be 500 shipped on top of that. He said if we get 5 or more people he would wave the 500 molding fee and do the trunk lids for 500 shipped and 450 picked up. Thats all the info I have, but I am not a vendor and cannot set up a group deal.

 

CF trunk would be nice but wouldnt it differ from 95-96 to 97-99?

keep us posted, $300 for CF trunk sounds good. assuming fitment was next to perfect, and no worries about the bottom latch. Would be kick *** to just be able to pop off the old trunk, bolt up the new one, and be done, it will close like an OEM hood, with the release button, since I'm sure it wont have a key hole.

 

The only price I have quoted is 500 shipped, and thats if we have 5 people....if you can find one for 300 then please let me know....re-read what I wrote ^^^

With a trunk for a 97-99, us 95-96's can use it, but will need to swap tails.
The trunks ive seen from Paradox and Ionic both do not have a keyhole.
As far as fitment goes, their like the hoods. Your going to have to play with it some. It will not be a perfect fitting direct swap.
Im kinda leaning towards my current choice. Its right around the same price and I already know what Ionic's finish looks like.
The CF mirror covers that I got from Paradox are nice, but in some areas the clear coat is a bit cloudy.
So unless the GD price drops a bit more, maybe like 450.00 shipped Im out.


BTW, who makes this CF type X spoiler?
Is it all CF or are you refering to the blue one that has the CF layered on it?

 

i dont mind playing around with the fitment at all, i enjoy doind anything like that. i wouldnt mind paying 450 for the trunk, but if there is a cheaper altenative with the same quality , then im in. i have the hood, and that looks good, i wouldnt mind having a cf tail, or even cf layered tail.
