The spot I chose was already there, on both sides and they were symetrical on both ends.
If the holes were not already there, you simply need to choose a location, and measure on both ends. You want the holes to be indetical on both sides.

 

So the holes can go anywhere but preferable toward the outside of the hood so if I measure 6 inches from the fender do it the same way on the other side.

Or how far off the fender should they be?

 

Doesnt matter. Whever you visually prefer.

whoever asked, you dont need any special drill bits, its just fiberglass and carbon fiber, (i personally think snap-on is a bunch of BS, I use them in my mechanic school and Im not any more impressed by them than with my craftsman or MAC tools), I used a cordless dewalt drill with craftsman bits. The underside of the hood works fine for drilling. Besides thats where its marked on the hood. You could dtill from the top, but thats just work... So just step up the size bit and do it slow and straight, it will not tear up the hood....

You mount the bolt to the rad support, you can do it somewhere else, but why, theres already holes there. You have 2 options, the inner ones, or outer holes.
Like Flavor said, its up to you and you visual preference. For me the outer holes looked too far back on the hood for my taste....

The spot, needs to be towards the front to keep air from dragging underneath and blowing the hood up and off your car.

yea the guy making them seems to be busy also. Not really a good deal, unless you want your hood in a few months. The guy doesn't answer phone calls or anything. GETTING KIND OF GAY! NOT WORTH 300 FOR A CF HOOD WHEN ITS LIKE THIS....

i know the deal ended friday and they are too busy to do another deal but it looks like we can have another 5-6 who are interested in a deal. i too would like a hood cause its gonna be jus as much to paint my hood as to get a new cf one ;-P . any hopes jdm pretty please. lol

Your an idoit if you really believe this.
The hoods were made to order. The turn around time seemed pretty quick, maybe a Mo. at the most. Not to bad considering their not premade.
300 shipped is an awesome price. Shipping alone is around 100.00 to 150.00
When I bought my hood, it was 380.00 after shipping it totaled out to 502.00 and the quality really wasnt that great.

i spend saturday at work and today i spent pulling my tranny apart cause a stupid throw out bearing decided to break on me. ill talk to them tomorrow. flavor is right the hoods are not premade they are made to each order. so this will take time. please be patient. people have gotten their hoods and guys waiting you will get yours.


i would like to thank those who participated in the group buy. i think so far to date the only hoods that were worth anything are the older fiber images hoods. but you can no longer get a FI hood. custom carbons had the best looking hood i have seen so far.

the wait is not what is bothering me, its the lack of information. There was tons of information and contact before our money was sent and the hoods went into production, now that our money is in the sellers hands there is no communication. I emailed custom carbons several days ago and have not gotten a reply from them?

 

i agree, the info has been cut short. but im not worried at all. i understand how things can get busy. im hoping we get our hoods soon...... i think im 4th or 5th.

 

I paid Dec. 24, 2004...so I have no clue where I am on the list, I just know I was not first or second.

 

i paid on the 23rd, so i guess im right before you.

 

well last hood (3rd) that went out was for 96greenmax.

another hood sould be set to got out. tomorrow or monday.

the hoods are "not" premade they are making the hoods to cover the order so as soon as the hood s are ready they get shipped out. the hoods are also hand made.




the group deal has ended already. whoever paid by last friday 21st unless arrangments have been made are in for $300 shipped.
