Any suggestions on where to mount the ballasts and igniters? I don't want to tackle this project until I am certain I can pull it off without a hitch. I'm not too good at things like this and have the tendency to botch them up. There are a lot of wires and I was wondering if anyone who has installed these has maybe a little write-up on the 5th gen or anything that could assist me.

so i take it this guy maximabest is legit? if you've gotten your hids from this person i'd really appreciate it if you post. this deal seems almost too good to be true. perhaps he's amassing a bunch of people in the second round and they all get duped. sigh. sorry for sounding like a conspiracy theorist.

blah.

i want the lights though. what's more purplely? 9000k? i think the ladies will like that. better lighting is a plus too. heh.

does anyone know where i can can pick up a pair of 2002 headlights? obviously without the bulb/ballasts, etc.

haha, he's legit. i got mine from him, and check out the posts from before with other people satisfied with their lights. check out my homepage for pictures. you wont get duped, hes for real. dont go with 9000k, your light ouput will be horrible, and you will blind everyone coming your way. id suggest sticking 5000-7000k. i went with 7000k for a little more blue-ish look, but for best light output, 5-6000k is best.

I have a 7000k McCulloch kit and I love the color. I'd recommend the 7000k to everyone cause its very white with a hint of blue.. Think they called the color Glacier blue..

so youre saying that 9000k has smaller lumen output than the oem halogens? you sure about that?

I PM'd his aswell and he has not responded. Im starting to get a little worried, because he use to come in here like everyday and now he hasnt been in here in like 5 days. I sent him the money Monday morning and I still dont have a tracking number and today is Friday, he says that I should receive the HID's 3 days after payment, so I dont know what to think. Hopefully they come in today and that he hasnt been in here because of his busy schedule with the "dealerships".

LCF, who is comparing light output from the 9000k to the OEM halogens? in comparision to the lower Kelvin temperatures, 9000k is not very good in terms of light output. You will put out a lot of color, but not a lot of light. There's a difference. Putting out that much color is what causes the glare and blinding of the oncoming traffic. In comparision from 9000k to 5000-7000k, 9000k is no good. Like i said, 5-6000k for best light output, 7000k for good light output with a blue tint to your lights

i am comparing them because i have stock halogens and im interested in upgrading to 9000k.

but more light than oem halogens, right?

i plan on purchasing the 2002 maxima headlamps and installing the helios kit with it. also i plan on re-aiming the headlights to minimize glare.

i understand this. but im not comparing 9000k to 5000k-7000k like you are... im comparing 9000k to the stock halogen lamps i have installed now. maybe you dont understand, but im not upgrading my lighting because i cant see the road at night. the oem halogens are lighting up the road for millions of people around the world... they must do the job. if the 9000k is better, even slightly, than the oem halogens, who gives a ****? you know what i'm saying?

9000k is the purple one like some of the bmws, right? i want.

ha, i get what your saying now. yeah, im sure the 9000k will be putting out better lumens than oem lighting. The only problem i see with it is the fact you arent getting as much light output going with the 9000k, but it's your car, not mine. 9000k should give you that look you are going for while also providing you with better output than OEM. you can check out my homepage for pics of 7000k. Maximabest had a page somewhere amidst this bible thread of the different kelvin temperatures, but youd have to look for it.

hi there people how are you, sorry for all this time without reply. I was out of US in Japan with HELIOS company trying to make some new bulbs for the new bulbs on the market. And of course volvo, etc..want to make the sticker on the volvo that says "volvo part" etc..so every costumer who see the ballast will know that is a volvo part. So we went to helios to see if that is possible.

Also Sentinal im so sorry about your order late, i will not say some lie or something else cause we work with the truth always. Your kit is on you way was shipped a little late than expected cause we was preparing change on box, color of the ballast, etc..so you will get the new edition of kit(the same as before, but a little different es***ic changes). Again sorry and you will be fine.

all the pm, i will reply on Monday due the lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooo ooooong trip to Japan(i hate to be more than 24 hours in a airplane)

No, I'm pretty sure that no OE in any car is higher than 5000K. I actually think most are 4300K and the fact that BMWs and the like appear more blueish/purple in color (fancy and eye catching) is due to the projector housing/lense. Most likely they use the highest quality everything in their cars aswell.

With regards to installing higher Kelvin temp, most people are aware that higher temp means more color and less light. Even in the halogen world people are attracted to the same thing and similar flawed principle. They want color instead of light and typically light and color are conversely related. I'm not knocking getting 9000K or higher, it's your car but if you are worried that the 9000K will be a drop down from stock halogens it really isn't even worth the question because putting these HIDs in the stock halogen housings will alter your lamps performance as it is.

he said he is installing them in the 2k2 headlight housings, and i believe those are made for HIDs if im not mistaken. and the reason the bmw/audis and what not give off that color is because of the projector. i think they stick with like 4300-5100k temperatures. you'll notice that blue/purple from far away, and as you get closer to it, it starts to look white as you pass it. i'm not sure about 9000k putting out less light, but if you have to re-aim the housings, and what not, you are losing some of that light gain. i can attest to that, seeing as how i had to lower my headlights, and waste some of that useable light so i wouldnt be blinded oncomers.

Im contemplating getting the H3 foglights(HID) for my 96maxima but then again, where would i put the ignitor/ballast without it getting banged up, etc, etc... Also, would the headlights fit directly into the stock plug (no splicing required) ?

hi there, this kit will work perfect on your car, you dont need anything to cut or mod in your stock harness. Also fit perfect in the bulb socket, headlight, fogs etc.

Im sure the bulb will fit perfect but as far as the ballast/ ignitor, where do i put them so that they wont get banged up. If my car is dropped, wont there be a chance of it getting wet?

hi there people, some costumers put under te headlight. Some other under the hood, remeber that you have long wires so you have enought to put if far away. Also and the best...this ballast are water proof.
