hey automax_95,
I drive a 2007 Nissan Maxima. I've done about 6,200 k. Do you advise changing the brake pads/rotors etc. or would you wait for another couple thousand miles? I live in Toronto, Canada. I hate the weather here, the stock brakes are ok when it comes to braking especially during the winter when it's slippery. Sometimes, the car tends to slip. Also, the brake response time's not the best. Otherwise, i love the car. What's your suggestions?
Also, if i were to change it, what's the best setup for my car? I'm talking everything that is rotors/pads/the ss lines etc. i don't really know what ATE is but yeah if you can help me out, that'd be great. Oh all the rotors are rust-proof right? Also, I might be interested in brake caliper paint as well (black). Please give me a full total price including shipping and org discount. (the best price possible, please - thankyou).
Here's my postal code:
L5L5P4, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Please advise. Thanks a lot.
P.S: What do you recommend? Slotted/Cross -Drilled Etc? (The best setup would be in regards to rain/snow etc)

ATE dot blue is a type of brake fluid
6,700 miles no need to change rotors nor pads. Give it at least 5000 more miles.
If you were to change your brakes, i recommend slotted rotors/ultimate pads
Regards
jason

Thanks AutoMax
rotors came very quick. I installed them and put new pads. No more shaking on highway when using brakes.
Other thing, I find edge on slotted segments to sharp. Is that Ok? Edge around dimples are perfect..

I don't know much about breaks, pads, fluid, or ss lines(what is ss lines anyways?). But I do know that it's time to change them off. Can you please guide me as to what I need? How much am I looking at? any suggestion on whats a fair fee for installation so I don't get rip off? Also, if I purchase parts from you, can I pick it up? I live in walnut. I have a 04 max.

^ ya i would like to know about SS lines aswell. mines are also stock i dont know if they even wear out that we have to replace them once. i believe the ss lines are where the brake fluid pass through. and yes you can do local pickup. i just picked new rotors yesterday.

Front and rear zinc plated slotted rotors
Front and Rear Ultimate brake pads
Front and rear Stainless steel brake lines
you get a bottle of brake fluid for free with full package purchase. I can acturlly recommend you to couple shops around walnut to have them install =) and yes you can defininlty pick up. I live in hacienda heights, our office is located in santa fe spring.
SS brake lines help prevent brake fluid getting stuck in the brake lines since rubber brake lines tend to heat up quickly .SS brake lines is life time warranty so over all is cheaper than replaceing your oem brak lines.
btw please e-mail me at json2384@yahoo.com( i can't p.m you)
andy thank you for your business! hope to see you next time =)
I need 2 Front (Left/Right) and 2 Rear (Left/Right) Cross drilled and Slotted Rotors + Brake Pads (For all sides) + All SS Brake Lines Front and Rear Shipped Can you PM with price and estimated delivery?
Got a question Automax. I bought four rotors from you about a 1.5 years ago. Once stock rotors are replaced with after market rotors, should they be replace every so often? The reason I am asking is when I have been braking lately on quick stops my steering wheel has been shaking very badly while braking but on regular slow stops it does not. Is this rotor related? Thanks for any input. Im guessing I might need new rotors? Thanks again.

Depends on your driving habits and how many miles you have put on since you installed your new rotors. Seems that your rotors maybe a bit warped and need to be cut (if they are not slotted or dimpled). Take the wheels off and take a look at them. Cut the rotors if you can. See if that helps. How about your wheels. Are the wheels balanced? Ask this in the 5th Gen and more will chime in.

Andrew
thanks andrew!

it depends on how many miles you put on the car, the way you describe your rotors, it seems like is wapred. Any how, it doesn't matter what kind of style you got you still can re-surface them.
