Mr.Duck... I have been in constant contact with jhw about the fitment of these pedals. There is a small issue with the prototype set and nothing you need to be concerned with. Not that I have to explain myself to you.
ZeroCool19... There were some qualifactions regarding becoming the tester for these pedals... FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.
Thanks and come again.
Pictures to follow.

Okay, let me get this straight.. You're sitting here complaing about JsMax taking too much time to get and fit the pedals because he's in Canada, right?
And someone else should have volunteered to test them because they're closer and mail would have been faster. Right?
So explain to me why you haven't done anything in the years past?
I have had my pedals on for over a year from them, and posted several threads on .org about them trying to get other people to test fit and buy from them.. they make a great product at a great price, and I'm all for anyone who's willing to make parts for the lowly Maxima- I can definitely vouch for the fact there's hardly any demand in most of this stuff, so there's next to nothing for money in it...
back to the point... these guys have been aroudn for years, and you're giving JSMax a hard time about the mail taking too long to get to him and they're taking forever to become available... When you could have prototyped them years ago for the same price.. But now that they're ready to order, YOU AREN'T EVEN GOING TO BUY THEM YET! wtf Mate?!

first of all matt, ive only been on the org for less than a year, and i have never seen those threads by you. If i had seen the threads, i would have offered to be a tester, like i did with this GD, but i was like a day too late. Also i was not complaining, i was joking around, and just pointing out a fact that if someone in the US had done this, everything would have been settled a long time ago, because the mail would have not taken 2 weeks, it would have taken a few days, than the problems would have been fixed in just a few more days. Now even JSmax has to wait more. You have to agree, it would not have taken nearly as close to a month as it did with JSmax if someone in the US had been the Prototyped the pedals. Also i would have had the money to do this. Unfortunately im only a college student, and unexpected expenses came up IN THE PAST MONTH. IM sorry Matt that i dont have a lot of money to throw around. I was ready to buy these A MONTH AGO but cant afford it at the moment. Also you show me where i was being rude, and deserved the comments that JSmax left for me, or even you to leave. SO GET OFF MY *****
no rude comment here?

A few things that I would have done differently...
1) mounted the gas pedal higher. As it sits right now, the bottom of the pedal hits the mat before I can make contact with the stopper behind the pedal.
2) I used a C clamp to hold the pedals in place while I drilled the hole for them. Make sure that the holes dont hit any of the "arms" behind the pedals before you drill them. One hole on each of mine on the bottom hit and I don't have a nut behind the screw. Just needed to move the pedal around a bit.
3) Remove the trim peice that is located under the steering wheel that is connected to the fuse box. The bigger one that rests under the steering rack. It'll make drilling the hole much eaiser, because my drill kept hitting that trim peice.
4) I removed the seat to give me some more room when doing this. Not neccessary but I did it anyway.
5) USE THE CENTER PUNCH... that's why the clutch is on at an angle. I didn't use it. My mistake.
6) Because mine were a prototype set, there was a fitment issue that arose with the curvature of the pedals to the stock units. It was different. I have been in contact with jhw and have sent him some pictures of the differences and he has assured me that this small item will be corrected on the production model. Instead of waiting for another set to come up from the states, I "persuaded" (read: used a really big hammer) my set to fit. Believe it or not, this took less time than waiting another 2-3 weeks for the new set to arrive. Took the pictures and all the new sets will have the proper curvature. I just wanted your guys sets to be perfect. I mean, I can live with my set not fitting perfect, but if I was purchasing them at regular retail, I'd be a little choked if the fitment was off.
That's about all I can think of for extra things that I did/didn't do. I hope you all enjoy your pedals. There are so many other things to be concerned with in life, lets just end the arguments.
JSMAX
Just another tip. My friend has some similar pedals that screw in. His would be come loose over time and had some trouble with mounting them. Here where his suggestions.
1) Use double sided 3M tape to pre-mount them.
2) Use Loctite on the screws.

Mr Duck, my point was that you're sitting there complaining- and obviously I'm not the only one that saw it as that- because you:
1) haven't been here long enough to see the previous threads.
.... Ignorance is no excuse. I found these guys on my own and asked them to make them for me.... (Just because you didn't see the speed limit sign back there doesn't give you an excuse to speed)
2) giving JsMax crap about it taking too long. SO WHAT! The parts are developed and that's the important thing. trust me when I say development takes a looong time on some of these things. I've been working on a B15 lower tie bar for about 6 months now because both of my testers are college students and are always busy when I'm ready to test fittment.
Whether he was in Canada or not means nothing to this. sure it took a bit longer, but who cares? You're making a big issue out of it taking an additional two weeks of time when it doesn't matter at all.
3) If you dont' have the money for them now but you did a month ago, then you shouldn't be spending the money in the first place.. If you're that close to being broke, then you shouldn't be modding the car at all.. and don't give me crap about being a broke college student- I was one for 7 years working full time while going to school, and next fall I'm probably going back for my Masters..
I'm not trying to be rude here, but get off HIS ***** for taking an extra two weeks to get these pedals done. the only person that had a problem with that is you, and you're complaining to the wrong people about it.
Dubbya, the AutoVation pedals use nylock nuts on the back of them so they don't come off. I checked mine not long ago, after being on for about a year, and all the screws were still holding tight.

For the nylon nuts. Great attention to detail! As for the other
we should all just be glad that Autovation is doing this for the Maximas. Be patient grasshoppah. All good things come to those who wait. You will get your pedals. Its not like its an emergency part that is stopping you from driving your car day to day.
5th Gen MT's are ready!

by the way, don't know if I needed to make a selection regarding finish (if any selection is available)...but if I did, I would like them to be a brushed or matte finish, not a shiny finish..thanks again.
