That dead pedal looks.............well.............not right!

I thought they were supposed to be curved and fitted. that just looks like a perferated piece of metal.

I have pics up on my cardomain page. Check it out if you want too. Not the best quality picture, the flash kind of drowned out the pedals.

Just installed mine, very nice, perfect fit.

Only problem, I broke off a drill bit in one of the holes (dammit), so I'll have to take the brake pedal off and open that hole back up

i hope it wasnt the 1/8" drill bit that broke. i went through a 1/16 then a 3/32 making pilot holes before successfully drilling out the 1/8" holes for the screws.

Best customer service in town!!! Two of the pedals were incorrectly bent for my '90SE. John and his team took the time to send me a fresh set with almost no questions asked. I only had to take a few snapshots of the fitment and John took care of the rest.

These guys are the best with products to match!!! Thanks again John!!!

What about Infiniti I30's?

Questions:

The I30 is supposedly Maxima's twin sister on the inside. However, never having compared one to the other, I would like to know if the gas and brake pedals in the I30 are identical to the Maxima?

If they are only comparable for certain years, then for which years are they comparable?

For any years that are not, then what about making sets for Maxima's twin sister car?

I just came across this GD. The pedals look very high quality but I have some concerns. So, you have to drill two or three holes in the metal ends of the brake and clutch pedals? And the gas pedal is screwed directly into the stock rubber gas pedal cover? That seems lame but I guess there's no way around it. Also, how is the dead pedal mounted?

Can anyone who's installed the 4th gen MT pedals describe how good the fitment is and show pics? Thanks in advance.

I can tell you fitment on my auto i30 is great, and the feel of the pedals is quite nice.

Seems lame? Dood these are by far the best pedals I have run across for the maxima. These pedals being directly bolted/screwed in means they do not move like clip style pedals do. If you dont like the screwed in to the gas pedal part you still might be able to bolt them up. I didnt look to see if there was clearance on the bottom side of the gas pedal. I have an a/t and the fitment was perfect! Go ahead and get some.

Yep, I'm gonna go place my order. Install is pretty easy, right? Just a drill with some cobalt bits? I already have a punch set.

Oh yeah, any chance of getting the aluminum door sills and/or chin splitter made for 4th gen Maxima? I think there would be a good market for both.

The install is pretty simple and a punch REALLY helps get the drilling started. Here are the complete instructions:

Pedal Installation

If you can send us dimension for the door sill (LxH) and a few pictures I'm sure we can do it. We sell a few door sills for various other cars and they look awesome. If you're interested send e-mail to jw@autovation.net

Thanks!

I understand your concerned with drilling into the pedals but this is the safest and most secure method (as apposed to bracket attached or clip-on style pedals that loose over time).

You install the dead pedal by screwing the supplied self tapping screws directly into the carpet area - it works very well.

Pedal Group Buy Over...

Hey guys, I need to close out the GB. If you have a pending transaction or I've spoken with you recently (including posts in this thread) we can finish those up. Otherwise you'll have to wait until we have more interest - perhaps at the end of Spring / early Summer.

Thank you all for the orders!

You're correct. The maxima pedals will fit. Just order (using the maxima order page) for the same generation as your I30. Please also specify that these are for an I30 so we can track accordingly. Thanks.

No, I like the fact that the brake and clutch screw right into the metal. That's more secure and you don't have the ugly rubber cover peeking through the holes (as I do with my current clip-on setup). However, from what I read, the gas pedal screws into the rubber cover of the gas pedal. So you'll see the rubber gas pedal beneath the nice metal pedal, which looks somewhat cheap just like my current clip-on pedals. Now, I've already ordered the pedals so I'm OK with it since it seems unavoidable. Is the rubber cover on the gas pedal not removable? Seems kind of weird.

The gas pedal is completely plastic. Check it out and you'll see that plastic is not a cover. The brake and clutch are a plastic cover over the metal pedal. Thank Nissan for that one.
IT's too bad that one wasn't able to use self tapping screws to screw into the plastic cover of the brake and clutch but I understand that wouldn't be safe and you'd need a really short screw.
to the top.

This is correct. There's nothing "beind" the gas (no metal gas pedal) to screw into.

Thanks for confirming. I think I will just clean the gas pedal thoroughly and maybe paint it black. Looking forward to getting these pedals, thanks for organizing the prototyping and for the intro pricing.

Painting the gas black will certainly make it look nicer (but not required).

Thanks again for all the constructive comments and orders - as I mentioned, if we get enough interest, we'll do this again in the next few months, let me know:

Hmmm, wish I'd known about the heel plate option. Is the surface non-skid or smooth?
