Thanks Jinsu,

You gave me this same offer initially, so I hope you can still provide USPS. Please get back to me ASAP and I'll definately provide the difference.

Thanks

Jinsu,

So how much do I owe you? If it is possible through USPS? This has to be settled soon since you're sending them out tomorrow correct?

well, I already made a deposit of $150 to keep my price of $800 + $90 shipping to hawaii for a set of 240sx S14 coilovers. So thats $890 - $150 = $740

I emailed you asking you to send me a link that would allow me to complete my payment by sending you the remaining $740.

I'm sorry but I can't find that link anywhere on any forums. If you could just direct me to the link, I'll be glad to complete my payment.

For the record, I made my first deposit of $150 with paypal using my email address: nismo14@gmail.com

Thank you & I'm sorry for the hassle this may cause,

Randy

I just got my set yesterday........BEAUTIFUL!!! (Thanks Wei). Anyways, I just wanted to confirm with all of you who already have them installed. When you lower the body mount (In essence, lengthening the shock), that'll drop the car while retaining full suspension travel? Is that correct? And, how did you guys drop the car? Did you guys only use the adjustable body mount........or did you guys also adjust the spring perch? I did not touch anything on the strut yet, but was hoping to get some sort of feedback on where to begin adjustment, before installing the coilovers. You know what I mean. I'd rather not mount them up, lower the car, find out it's too high or too low, then raise up the car, unbolt the coilover, readjust the body mount, bolt it up, adjust again, etc.... Can anybody help me out with a starting point. I'm looking to drop the car about 2.5"-3" while still keeping as much ride quality and travel as possible. Thanks in advance.

they dont recommend you adjust the spring perch. this is from their website FAQ:

"Cant I adjust height by adjusting the spring perches?

Yes you can adjust height by changing spring tension, by adjusting the spring perch up or down, but we DO NOT recommend it on most applications. In systems designed with lower adjustable mounts the spring perch should not be used for height adjustment."

i adjusted to spring perches to give just a small amount of preload on each one before installation. As far as adjusting the lower mount, i would say dont worry about it too much because I doubt you will get the height right the first time. I cant speak for a 5th gen cuz I dont have one but i was always lower than I thought I would be. I think even at full shock length it still might be dropped a little. You can always make adjust all 4 to have the same length at first and stick em on and hope you get lucky tho. Doesnt hurt to try.

I got my KSports for my Se-R today. That is the most poorly designed coilover setup I seen compared to my Maxima's D2. The rears has a restriction on how far I can lower them, I have about a 3/4 inch gap on the rears so I had to make the fronts match. Also on the stock Se-R struts one of the upper mount bolt is longer so the stock sway bar can fit, well the KSports does not have this so I had to take off the stock strut bar.

Jinsu, Can you address this with KSport and hopefully they can make some adjustments to their design.

Here's the deal.

When you're just setting your height, first tighten the lower spring perch so that the spring is in place (and no more than that). Then, set the body mount where you want it and install the coilover. If your drop is more or less than you want, then measure exactly how much you need to change it, unbolt the bottom mount, move it up or down as needed, and bolt it back up. I set my front coilovers at a length of 17 3/4 inches from the bottom of the upper spring mount to the bottom of the coilover, and with a little bit of preload, that dropped me 4" in front.

Now, keep in mind, setting the lower spring perch to keep the spring in place will introduce preload when you put the car back on the ground. This makes the spring stiffer, which makes it harder for the shock to control, so you'll get more bounce. You can dial out this preload when the car is on the ground simply by adjusting the bottom mount. Just bear in mind that if you decrease the preload, there's a greater chance that the spring will come loose if/when you unload the suspension -- i.e. when jacking the car up or running over a dip or hole in the road.

Theoretically, you could use helper springs to get around this preload problem -- they keep the spring in place when the suspension unloads, but they don't introduce any preload. I just ordered a set and will be installing it this weekend, so I'll post more on that later.

Incidentally, if you have more questions or any info to share, check this thread out:
