Shifter is great! No denting of heatshield required. Shortens throws nicely. Can be done in garage, but is much easier on a lift

Also, some feedback would be great, I paid with paypal.

Actually, personal (p)reference would have me calling it more of a "ski pole" shifter. But I'd like to get rid of it too. =)

Steve, I called you on the 22nd--I'm Nathan. I'm also ready to paypal, I'll give you another call on the 25th.

I will probably want to go with a different shift **** though--if anybody would perchance want mine, let me know.

installed mine this evening - all i can say is wow

steve - do these things have to "break in" at all? mines great, just a little stiff - but maybe thats how its supposed to be. also the shifter seems to move left to right while in 1st and 2nd (at least more than the stock one did when i wiggle the stick back and forth) is this normal? 3rd-5th and reverse are a smooth, direct shift tho.

I haven't noticed much of a difference over the life of my B&M shifter ~ 1.5 years. A change or two of Redline MT-90 should help it get rid of some of the notchiness. I've never really noticed any extra shifter stick movement. You can replace the rubber "counter weight per B&Ms instructions" with a new OEM Nissan part and that will get rid of a LOT of the vibration. I can get you the part number if you need it.

yea i saw that in the instructions (the box w/ my B&M was missing the two nuts for the screws that hold the base in place - no big deal tho, 57 cents from home depot. but just to let you know in case of problems with that in the future) i also installed the polyurethane bushing from Top Element Tuning. Is there not a stock counterweight bc i definitely didnt have one. the number for that would be great - thanks again Steve for a great deal.

could this little bit of play in first and second be a result of something within the actual transmission and not the shifter or assembly?

if im picking this up as part of a 5speed conversion what other parts would i need?

i guess what im asking is does this include everything i need to shift the transmission such as a support rod, control rod, and return spring? I should be able to tell from the pics but I really dont know what they look like im just getting this list from the 5speed conversion write up.

edit: well just from looking at the picture doesnt seem like there is anything long enough to reach the transmission so could anyone help me out and tell me which parts I'll need extra just to be able to shift. thanks!

That should be it! I think you've already received your shifter though, sorry for the delay!

Haven't received it yet, but it has shipped.

I've just realized that I have neither jackstands nor a wrench or anything else, anyone know how much would it be ballpark to have a shop install it? What about a ypipe?

Oh well, I'll get it soon and install it somehow. Hehe. Might pick up an STS boot as well.

Been spending way too much money recently, so I might not be able to get a ypipe. =(

Oh well... I'll send you feedback as soon as I get it--anyone else have any impressions or reactions while I'm waiting?

Do these ship in separate boxes? I received a package today that had B&M plastered all over it, but it contained only the shifter stick, some o-rings, stickers and grease. No shift bushings, washers, shift ****, no nuthin' else. What's going on here?

EDIT: was a packaging mishap not having anything to do with SCO.

Steve took care of it, they're sending another one out tomorrow. Thanks!

You know, my second shifter never came, and I was never emailed from sportcompactonly, except for some spam. I'd like to cancel my order and I'd like a full refund, please. I can ship the "first" shifter back to you if you give me the label via email, or whatever you'd like to do.

Thanks,
Nathan

I'd like to know this too, and if this deal is still good. I need a shifter for 5spd swap, and I mind as well just jump to short shifter rather then getting a stock and then switching it.

Good seller, GREAT product. You Can do it in your driveway. I did it using 2 scissor jacks. The hardest part is breaking loose the exhaust bolts. And you can do that by kicking the wrench
No denting of the heat shield required. Nice shift **** (Although, if I leave my sunroof cover open on a sunny day, it gets to be about 400 degrees kinda kidding, but she gets pretty hot.)

Also, give it a few hundred miles to "break in" mine seems to be getting continually smoother.

Great seller, and great product!

Any chance these will fit on a '92 SE 5-Speed??? I know that my friend pretty easily fabricated a 5th Gen Custom Enterprises STS on his '94 SE-5.

Thanks.
