They shouldnt be a problem, My current hood doesnt have the rolled edges and has held up, no seperations.
I just prefer the look of them. Although not too many hoods have the rolled fiber edges so I may have to do without.
Also, after speaking to some paint shops about respraying the clear, the reason my clear eventualy wore out in some areas maybe due to me not using the heat insulator underneath the hood. The heat from the motor may have been the reason why the clear come off.
Im putting that underliner back on when I get a new hood.

I actaully thought they were rolled??? But I don't know...and I still haven't recieved my hood...I'm going to give him a call tomorrow see whats going on. And I'm getting a couple clear coats on mine...to be on the safe side...and I'm going to take flava's advice and insulate under the hood for heat..what did you use...or are you going to use anything?

Guys,

Dynamat makes a hoodliner that protects against both sound and heat. I installed mine when I got my car repainted. The clear coat was peeling from all the heat that the engine produced. It has held up for over 2 years now and no peeling, flaking or anything else.

Sound?? Is this custom made for the 4th gen hood? How much did it cost you?

No, its a package thing. Just like you would get for your trunk etc, but this type is designed to resist heat.
Dynomat isnt too cheap but im sure it would be worth it,...

75 is kinda up there. But I'd rather pay that then have a ruined hood. Ill probably get that just so I can have peace of mind about it.

I called redline on tuesday, whoever picked up said he needed to call me back. Then he said to email them at info@redlinemax.com, and he'd reply in the morning when he got to his computer.
Its thursday now, no reply.
Has anyone heard anything? I'm getting pis$ed.

I'm in the same boat chillin. I called all day the last 2 days like every hour and let the phone ring until it either stop ringing or until I got tired of hearing it ring. I have sent them an email to. I understand there is a lack of carbon fiber...a couple companys have said that...but I still haven't recieved my hood. And I have my trunk?!?!?? I'm going to try calling them all day today. Corey if you are reading this...call us and let us know what's going on

Yeah, its seeming pretty unprofessional at this point. I mean ill accept delayed shipping but the non-communication thing really makes things sour.

Corey is very busy with the building of the shop and handling all our orders. I'm a sponsored car and I've been waiting for a few things for close to a month now. I know he's busy and I'm sure they'll get here soon. Patience is a virtue. I wouldn't be stressing about it unless you're going to going to be enrolled in a big car show within the next week or so. People need to understand that there are many different elements of business and Corey is still getting everything situated. Give the man a break. It's easier said than done, but I urge you to just chill cause getting all riled up over it, isn't going to get the product in your hands quicker.

I also call, sometimes I get an answer, sometimes I don't. Some things of mine he has, but others he's waiting on. Sometimes it's not RedlineMax, it's their suppliers that are slacking.

You'll get your stuff, cool your jets.

Like I said, I'm fine with him need some time and stuff, but I'm not okay with being told ill get a call or response when I'm not. If he was going to be overwhelmingly busy he should have said that ahead of time so I didn't expect better business.
I'm not "riled up" but I am out 400 bucks and have nothing to show for it. Plus, I need to make arrangements for picking the item up since it won't fit in my max, so its nice to get a general idea of when its coming.
Sorry but your "you'll get your stuff eventually" logic only goes so far.
So he might have a valid excuse, but I wouldn't know since I haven't talked to the guy in a month.

I haven't order a hood from RedlineMax..but ive been following up on the order of the hoods to see if someone got theirs and find out if they are happy with it or not. One thing i have to say...Mr. Digital VIP- These guys have been extremelly patient on their hoods. If someone is to have a business and someone places an order, i think its his job to keep every one of his customers up to date on their order. It doesnt matter if he is extremely busy building a shop or if hes working on cars or what the issue might be. Business is business and these guys paid to get something and a rep from redlinemax should call and let them know whats going on...instead of having them chillin on a boat waiting for a phone call......So let get a little more consideration for the buyers also..

Now!! What ever i said doesnt mean i have a problem with anyone here!! Im just saying that its not right for someone to jump in here and say this(but I urge you to just chill cause getting all riled up over it, isn't going to get the product in your hands quicker.) Specially coming from a redlinemax sponsor! I mean you just pushed some people button's. All you should have said was " Guy's sorry we havent been able to get back with everyone, I apologize for the delay and miss communication but we'll keep calling and pushing buttons so yall can get them hoods ASAP"
Dude, trust me! you would have calm these guys down a little more. Putting my self in their shoes ofcourse. But if you say (You'll get your stuff, cool your jets) youll get this or even this

I'm not a b!tcher , I know what its like to have crappy customers. But at my business the customer is well taken care of. I don't think I'm asking for too much.
Maybe a redline sponsor can pm me?

Apparently there was a carbon shortage in the area. I think they are being built right now. Ace's was the only one that got built during all of this. I hope they can get them out soon and I hope the shortage does not have anything to do with the quality of carbon they use for our hoods

sorry bro, none for you. haha jk.
seriously though, lets get this eyelid thing goin! i figure thats a semi-cheap item they could afford to throw in and in carbon fiber it kinda compliments the hoods we bought.
i dont tink redline checks up on this thread anymore though.

a 5 month long wait for an item. . . Wow. I know they must be busy but a compensation of some sort would be a nice and couteous jester for their ever so patient buyers.

. . . or maybe a refund.

i haven't gotten a damn thing.
corey gave me a call back like over a week ago i think telling me that the hood hadnt even been built yet. for some reason i wasnt surprised, even though he emailed me over a month earlier saying it was shipped.
well...after expecting and expecting it now im kinda just not expecting it anymore.....when it shows up it'll be a nice surprise, just like those free eyelids corey should throw in.
i havent talked to them.....maybe i'll call up tomorrow. having to keep track of this is really irritating, they should be calling me not the other way around.
