I know I would have, with all this time having passed and no hood yet? no compensation? or even frequent posts to re-assure he/they havent forgotten about the deal!?

I think a refund should be in order monday morning, unless the hoods are ready to ship now.

has anyone called up recently?
i think im gonna call in a minute but im so tired of calling up there and then hearing the excuses or whatever it is they say to get me off their backs.
they already posted up another thing in the GD section, maybe their priorities aren't straight?
just a guess. but its really all besides the point by now. whatever is going on over there is really null and void cause the point still stands that they have our money and we dont have our hoods.
customer service and all these things going on in their personal lives is just a little irrelevant.

"Carbon Shortage in America" Corey

He has paid for them, and they are made as carbon fiber is aquired from their supplier.

I trust him, if you dont then get your money back and try to buy somewhere else. You cant beat the price and when its all said and done with, ordering from someone else really wont do anything because no-body is making the hoods anyway since there is a shortage

There is actually a bad global carbon fiber shortage right now. Even common wholesale customers cant get more than about 5 yards every two weeks. I know this cause im on a carbon composite forum and they are having bad problems with it. Im sitting on about 10 yards of the stuff, hopefully to do something with it someday.

and how come everyone but Redline has posted this information. Sadly this being the case, you'd figure Redline would post and say there is a shortage of carbon fiber and so it will take longer than normal.

I'm not trying to bag on redline but there is a way of running a business and even if everything isnt going in your favor, a constant communication with your customers is very re-assuring.

Why would you want to? Even if you can get it think about how long you still have to wait.

ok i have a problem i have tried to keep this off of the forum just to keep from bashing on a company that is so involved in the Nissan community. I have spoken to Jose about a problem that i had with his trunk...when i received it the trunk was damaged. We decided to try to get the shipping company to pay for their mishandling of the product, which was left to me, which i did. I than tried to contact Jose again in response to the damaged trunk and he was out on break and his secretairy/Wife/Girlfriend said he would get back to me. I than tried to contact him through the phone appx. 20 times in the course of a month. Than tried to contact him through emails and alternate phone numbers, still having no luck. I also tried the forum and everyones mailboxes are full. I am at my wits end here and i dont know where else to go so i am now asking for the help of the forum to please contact Jose about honoring his product or giving me my money back!! I already tried to inform him that it would be more beneficial to him to just make me a new trunk since the markup would be there. Please if anyone knows how to contact him please have him call me my Phone number is 985-502-9996
Thank You .org members

Do it yourself, its not hard.
Install the posts, put tape on the end of the posts. On the tape, put a dab of white paint and slowly lower the hood untill it touches the posts. It will leave a white dot.
That is the spot you want to drill. I put blue tape on the top of the hood to keep the hood from cracking and splintering and the slowly drilled from the bottom up with a small drill bit. Then I opened up the hole from the top bit by bit untill it was large enough for the post to fit through.

i hear ya on the paint method, thats what the instructions said.
but what confused me was that the instructions said to drill the bottom of the hood the side of the bottom piece of my hood pin. i think because there is a washer that goes UNDER the hood that needs to sit flat against the underhood? you understand what im saying?
well the size of the the washer that needs to sit flush with the underhood is like HUGE, its the size of the hood pin. its not supposed to be drilled all the way through (just to get it on a flat surface)
the hole that needs to go all the way through the hood is like 1/2 of an inch because i got these key locking hood pins. and the lock is about that big.
what do you think about that? i mean you only get one try at this...

I know what your talking about now, since you said you have the locking hoodpins. Those type of pins have a a plate on the bottom and on the top of the hood that sandwich the hood. You would need to dremel an opening in the underskeleton large enough for the underplate to fit flushly against the hood. You still need to drill the hole for the post first, so that you will know where the center of post is going to be.
FYI- locking hood pins will not work for our hoods. Ive tried as well as others.

These are what you have correct?

Those type of pins lock by a type of T post lock. The downward slope on our hood make it so that they dont line up. The have to be perfeclty vertical to each other in oprder for the T post on the lock to fit into the groove on the post.
Ther have been a couple of posts on these in the past.

Ah crap...yeah dude those are them. Hopefully I can return them then and get some other ones. This is what I get for buying the first thing I see.
Do you think you could show me some I can buy that will work for sure?
Hopefully I still have the receipt for these cause I bought tem locally. I'm not too disapointed though cause the quality didn't look like the best thing I'd seen and the drilling seemed excessive.
Thanks flav. I woulda been pissed to find out right in the middle of it

Alright thanks.
And one last question.
Why does everyone say the cf hood is more dangerous (will come loose and fly back when driving) than the stock one even though it has the latch catcher thing like the stock hood

It doesnt come off at the latch, some cheap CF hoods tend to Seperate at the front and actually peel back and then come undone. Pretty nasty.

Actually some have seperated at the latch.
Ceasar had his latch actually break and only the pins holding it on.

i got those sparco hood pins (expensive damn, more than the locking ones) and it looks like you gotta drill an additional 3 holes per pin actually into the top of the hood, anyone got pics of this installed?

my latch isnt strong enough, I'm only using hood pins. So far so good, I make sure everything is bolted down well. many many road trips and no problems yet (knock on wood).

gotta re-adjust my hood this weekend.

I tied up the lines and put it to the side. I never used them that much anyway so I didnt see it as a loss. You could get a dremel and cut out a shape for them.

dude yeah im gonna do that, not really a necessary luxury where i'm at either. i'll have to rig up something under the hood, something more illusive.
but now im curious as to where on the radiator support people drilled for their hood pins, cause i see holes already there but i just cantdecide where to drill.
my dad doenst like that im drilling for the hood pins he thinks the latch would work fine and i keep explaining to him. he was talking about having some sort of spring/bungee thing that would be under the hood and catch it if in fact the hoodlatch did break or whatever, but i guess at high speeds a bungee is not gonna stop the hood from flying up. personally i think hood pins look tough anyway.

the one that kind of has a thin piece of metal in the way of it on both sides and that plastic headlight sheild on the passenger side?
that hole was a little larger than the pin. you just tightened it enough to where it wouldnt move or what
im currently drilling into the plastic skeleton to put the hood liner on

okay i put the hood on, and its not like the sturdiest thing i've ever felt. also, there is 1 or 2 imperfections in the weave, and the fitment is tight, it rubs on the passenger side when opened all the way.
these things aren't a big deal right? i mean...i'm not about to wait another 3 months for a hood just cause of one small weave imperfection..
now i just need to drill my hood pins but im worried about how there is no washer between the hood and the "locking" part of the sparco pin. also the 3 little screws i have to screw in...
