Radiator Cooling Panels

The middle portion of the panel is flattened from the curve of the bumper as to not stick out when the hood is closed. I just took a look at a local 4th gen that had this on his car. If the panel "flowed" along the bumper, you would see if wedged between the rubber weather stripping and the bottom of the hood. So as you can see, when the sides line up properly the middle portion is trimmed back to retain clearance. And there is plenty of room under the radiator support for the shroud to sit with nothing in its way.
